Looks like the dream of a skating video game that uses the Wii Balance Board is getting closer and closer to a reality. Skate It from EA is looking visually appealing and functional with the use of the board. I like the ability to shift your weight and do different jumps from just the board. My main questions lie in the grinding and flipping that needs to be done, that will be very hard to control via the board. Now that the skating game is out of the way I can definitely envision a surfing game as well. What do you think?
New trailer for the Max Payne movie. I’m all types of excited. This looks to be one of the best video game movies ever made. I’ll definitely be paying to see this one. Don’t even have to convince my wife to go with me, she wants to see it too.
Check out this new trailer of Little Big Planet from PAX. We get to see the Adventures of Sackboy, and there’s even a sighting of a Sackgirl in there. This is definitely one o fthe most anticipated games of the year. It’s been winning tons of awards for Best of Show categories in recent conferences. October can’t come soon enough.
If you didn’t play Golden Axe and had a Sega Genesis, then I don’t know what the hell you were doing. Maybe the greatest side scrolling fighter on that console, Golden Axe is back and holy shit balls. This time around, you get the magic and the melee combat, but you also get to ride huge beasts that pwn anything in their way. Combine all three, and you could have an awesome game.
As badass as Batman is appears, he would be jack shit without Alfred. Even superheroes need someone to make them scrambt eggs and was his undies. According to Batman canon, Alfred was a former espionage who knows his way around in a fight. Watch this trailer as he never drops his tray. Ever.
Mercenaries was one of the best titles on the Xbox. I still play it to this day. A true sandbox adventure where you could destroy anything and were rewarded for it. The game also let you complete the mission anyway you wanted. Don’t feel like walking, chopper in or ram a tank up someone’s ass. Portable nuke FTMFW Mercs 2 comes our way August 31.
The Prince finally hits next gen and here is a first look at the totally messed up world he is living in. The game looks very good, but seems heavily dependant on climbing around and jumping. If this is done correctly, the game will be great, but if the camera sucks, we might have another NG2 on out hands. Great game, great controls, totally debilitating camera. Check it out and decide if this is worth the hype its getting.
2K released a new trailer for BioShock for the PS3 at Games Convention over in Leipzig. Nothing earth shattering or stuff we haven’t seen. What bothers me is the framerate. Yes, it’s just a trailer. But even the Xbox 360 trailers ran a nice normal framerate. Is 2K having issues getting the game up to speed on the PS3? Or did the video just encode bad? I’m hoping for the latter. October is coming up quick, so we’ll know sooner than later.
Is this the best looking WWII game I have ever seen? Yes. Am I insanely disappointed that this is a WWII game? Absolutely. I can’t get excited to shoot weapons that are almost 70 years old. I’m looking forward to COD6.
Heavy Rain got unveiled today at the GDC and man it looks great, graphically the game is like playing a movie. The creepy feel of the game really comes through in the footage and I like the fact that they showed “Actual Gameplay” footage, I am tired of teaser trailers that show nothing. The fight system breaks down to the God of War style mini games but it seems to work very well in-game and the scene with the detective fighting off the knife wielding maniac looks awesome.
