In this year’s Tiger Woods game for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, you’ll be able to import pictures of yourself to make your own face in the game. You use the Xbox Live Vision Camera, PS3 EyeToy, or you can upload pictures of yourself to EA’s website.
It looks like EA has done a great job with this feature in Tiger Woods.

So it begins, two empires come together to conquer all. Microsoft announced today that it will be placing ads into Electronic Arts Inc. sports franchises, starting with Madden 08. Don’t expect to see the ads just be confined to the football title, Microsfot and EA have already confirmed ads for Skate, Tiger Woods, NHL and NASCAR.
It looks like a lot more emphasis will be put on in game ads as Google, Microsoft and others push the nvelope to deliver dynamic ads in our video games. But more importantly what will this all mean to the consumer?

The deal comes as Massive faces increased competition from Google, which bought game ad service Adscape for a reported $23 million in March, and from privately held companies such as Double Fusion.
“We need to build an overall network and this is a major stepping point to have us do that,” Van Arsdale said in an interview with Reuters.
Massive acts as a broker between companies that want to get their ads in front of gamers, and game publishers eager to tap new sources of revenue to offset higher development costs for flashy new titles that can cost $20 million or more to make.

Supposedly this will revolutionize the golf game genre… we’re a bit skeptical. It looks much like the 07 version, with slightly upgraded graphics and better sound (when you hit a drive in Tiger Woods 07, it sounded like a graphite head club, which no one uses).

Nintendo has announced their anticipated launch schedule to keep us gamers busy during our long hot summer. Of greatest interest have to be the Wii titles: Metroid 3 in August and Mario Strikers in July. There are also a gigantic DS lineup announced, of greatest note are the 3 versions of the Mega Man title, sly devils and their different versions, as well as the SimCity EA game coming to a hand held near you. Can’t wait to see the distribution of Wii and DS titles become a bit less lop sided.

EA posted some new screens today from the Xbox 360 version of Tiger Woods 08. The game is looking better than last year.
The lighting effects look great. I hear they’re really focusing on the gameplay this year since the development has shifted to EA Tiburon. I think it’ll pay off.
