Microsoft Responds to MS Point Stealing

Xbox Live LogoWe reported earlier on the hack of Bungie.net that opened up Xbox Live and user’s credit cards to theft.

Well, Microsoft responded to Kotaku in true MS fashion. No direct answer of what’s going on, no confirmation of the attack, just sort-of brushing it away to the side. Just like they did when myself and a few other users contacted them a bunch to get our credit cards removed from their systems.

Recently, there have been reports of fraudulent activity and account theft taking place on the Xbox LIVE network. Security is a top priority for Xbox LIVE, and we are actively investigating all reports of fraudulent behavior and theft. Any customer with a question about the security of their Xbox LIVE account should contact 1-800-4-MY-Xbox, and
an Xbox Customer Service Representative will help them understand our security policies and procedures.

Either a professional security consultant misinterpreted his data and blew it out of proportion, or Microsoft is dodging the bullet here again. You be the judge.

Joe Rogan Calls Out Carlos Mencia

It’s pretty widely known that Carlos Mencia is a joke theif. If you’ve seen any of his “material”, it’s pretty clear to see the bits he’s stolen from Richard Pryor, Paul Mooney, etc. The guy isn’t even really Mexican. His name is Ned. Yeah, it’s fucked up.

Anyway, Joe Rogan has been pretty out there about letting everyone know about Carlos Mencia’s joke stealing antics. On Saturday night, he confronted “Carlos” about it on stage at the Comedy Store in LA. Little did Carlos know, but it was being filmed… Check the video below, and read Joe’s thoughts on his website.

[Update] Updated video since the first one got pulled from YouTube… no idea why

[Update2] Not only did Carlos Mencia have YouTube pull the video, he also had Rogan banned from the Comedy Store, pretty punk ass moves if you ask me.

Sony Steals PGR3 Images for Ads

Major Nelson reports that Sony decided they wanted to steal a Project Gotham Racing 3 image as a background picture for a Gran Turismo HD video download for PSP. Yeah, ummm, this could be one of the dumbest things I’ve seen Sony do in a while. The image is CLEARLY from PGR3. Major posted a screenshot on his Flickr account for when Sony decides to take it down. He also posted the original image on Bizzare Creation’s website here.

Seriously Sony. What the hell is the matter who you people over there? Is your marketing team really that dumb that they think PGR3 shots from the developer’s website are from Gran Turismo HD?
