I’m going to be all over this like a fat kid on a cupcake. iPhone gaming is really ramping up and THQ looks to take full advantage of the new platform by bringing The Force Unleashed to Apple’s mobile phone. Check out a bit of the game in action and drool until we can actually play this.
Even casual fans of SW:TFU are eagerly waiting the inevitable demo that is coming our way. We have been told its August, but an exact date has not been revealed. More importantly, the demo will have content that is not in the full version. Pretty awesome. This is great news because we won’t get some half-assed walkthrough or a random level only to end when the game gets good. NG2 anyone? There will be an ending to the demo that we all can enjoy. It will be on both XBL and PSN. Listen up for the exact date. Force lightning in a Wookie’s ass FTW.
September cannot come soon enough. Starkiller, Vader’s secret apprentice is coming and we are waiting for the moment we can force choke a Wookie or throw a Stormtrooper in the cold, vacuum of space. Watch in awe and work on that saber throw
***Mini-spolier*** alert. This video gives you some of the back story to the secret apprentice of Darth Vader. There are no endings here but it will tell you about the first level and where said apprentice came from. If you want to be truly surprised, maybe pass it over. Although watching this video made me want to play the game even more. Force throwing Wookies against trees FTW.
So you thought it was a bit silly to have Darth Vader and Yoda in Soul Calibur 4? Well, things get even cheesier now with the inclusion of Darth Vader’s young Jedi apprentice, Starkiller. Some may ask who the f*%$ is Starkiller? Well, the main character for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, of course. Seems like a shameful excuse to plug the upcoming game. It was bad enough to have Yoda and Darth Vader in there, but now another character? Why not throw in Chewbacca while you’re at it? What do you guys think?
LucasArts has made it very public and very clear that they want to get this game to as many people as possible and the best way to do so is to release a multiplatform demo. Fans of the Trilogy,(there is only one Return and it ain’t of the fucking king) will buy this game blindly. The casual gamer which makes up most of the genre will need to play this game to believe it. Here is what LucasArts had to say:
There are people who are excited about it, who are going to play it right away, whether they play it (the demo) or not. But I think something that is wonderful is that the gameplay itself is so engaging, people who aren’t Star Wars fans or who aren’t even hardcore gamers, once they get their hands on some of the gameplay and how it works, are really going to be won over by it.
I, for one, am beyond excited for this. There are people at my job who will be buying consoles just for this. I work in scientific research people. Madden is foreign around here. Force lightning is what these guys want. Its even my wallpaper right now. We will give a big heads up when the demo’s date is announced.
A million voices cried out at once and then were silent. Then they yelled, Fuck yeah! That’s right, you get to play as Vader in SW:TFU. Force choking Wookies on Kashyyyk for the fucking win. Check it out.
What could possibly be the best Star Wars game other than something involving Legos to come out in the past decade has finally been slated for a Q3 release. An official press release from Lucasarts confirms that on September 16, 2008, its so on. On like a drunken Obi Wan on a padawan. Hit the jump for the official release.
The physics engine is strong with this one. This 5 or so minute clip from the Lucasarts dev team shows us how they made this game look as amazing as they did. Watch in awe as Vader’s secret padawan wreaks havoc on all that is in his way. Star Wars fan or not, this game looks like a blast to play.
