LucasArts has been on a tear lately revamping and revitalizing its older game properties. With the recent release of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition to The Dig, the minions under George Lucas are hard at work bringing back older franchises. With that being said, something just might be on the horizon for the famous dogfighting adventure series set in the Star Wars universe.
G4’s Patrick Klepek recently sat down with LucasArts president Darrel Rodriguez and asked about the future of the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, and the X-wing vs. TIE Fighter series.
“We don’t have any announcements now, but stay tuned,” Rodriguez said. “We will soon…..”
I’m hoping for a full-on gaming title for this generation, but at this point, I really don’t care! I just want to strap myself in to the Incom Corp. T-65 X-wing starfighter and take on a few pesky womprats in training mode. Is that too much to ask without having to break out my 100MHz Packard Bell and suction cup equipped joystick to watch porn take on Beggar’s Canyon? Yes, I know! With that last comment you all probably know now that I am a huge Star Wars nerd. HUGE!
Here’s hoping that we will hear an announcement soon about this upcoming title. Then and only then I will be able to safely take my Ewok sleepy shorts out of their cubby and wear them with pride!
I’ve always enjoyed the racing games Bizarre Creations has made. The Project Gotham series is still in my top 3 racing games of all time. I was a bit worried when they broke off and got snagged up by Activision, but this teaser for Blur calms some fears. It looks sick and I’m sure it’ll control well. It’s just a matter of how much fun the final product will be. I have high hopes, but I’m still a tiny bit skeptical.
Do you have any idea what this means? I know it is the Portrait of the Vitruvian Man and that was the Renaissance time period. Maybe we get to kick some ass in the 1500’s? Either way, prepare to be cock teased.
There were rumblings all day yesterday at GDC about something big going down at the Game Developer Awards ceremony at GDC. The rumblings turned out to be the debut teaser of Modern Warfare 2, which may or may not have shed the Call of Duty name (the trailer only calls it Modern Warfare 2). Activision and Infinity Ward also dated the game for release November 10th of this year. While a lot of people think this is a huge bombshell announcement, I have to disagree. We already knew the game was coming this year, and while trailers are nice, it’s about the right time to start dropping information about the game. What do you think? Of all the GH games, there are some songs that you wish would be dropped into GHWT. Songs like “Through the Fire and Flames” or “Free Bird”. Well, apparently you will get that wish. Here is the latest teaser for GH: Greatest Hits.
I think I’ve played through the first Patapon game about 5 times. It’s that damn good. Check out my review if you want to see exactly what I thought. With a sequel coming in May, Sony dropped a teaser trailer to show off what’s coming in Patapon 2. Check it out and make sure to check back later this week for our preview of the game.
Did you get through Mass Effect and crave more action? Mass Effect 2, now multiplatform, is definitely coming. But wait, did that just say Killed in Action? Is that a Geth wearing an N7 tag? Damn you, Bioware. THIS is how you do a teaser, that’s for sure. Now I want to know more. Give me more before I drive out there and demand action.
Transformers are not really video gaming related, but its our site and we like robots. So much so, we are going to post a sick, sick teaser for the sequel to the Transformers movie. Note a few things. One, there are more robots. Two, they all seem pissed. Three, The Fallen is a giant unicycle and he is doesn’t care about humans. Revenge is coming. I wish Megan Fox was coming. Hey-yo.
The dead are rising again. We all knew that a sequel was coming to the surprise Xbox 360 hit and now we finally have something tangible. The game seems like it will take place in a Japanese casino. I can’t wait to run over someone with the Atlasphere. Did anyone else see that? Early 90’s homage to American Gladiators FTMFW.
We all knew there was going to be a new Transformers game. We all are hoping it is nothing like the last one. Here is the new teaser for it. So far, it would seem like the advanced weapons of the robots are useful and not just decoration. I wouldn’t mind transforming into Megan Fox’s bicycle seat.
