Capcom will be releasing a nice long beta testing period for Super Street Fighter II HD Remix on Xbox Live Arcade. PS3 users, go cry in a corner.
If you buy Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, you’ll be able to enter the beta. Commando 3 will run you 800 MS Points from the XBLA once it’s released. However, the PSN version won’t include the beta. Capcom tried to calm the storm of fanboys by releasing some reasons why the PS3 version won’t include the beta.
Mainly, they would have to submit for three approvals for the PS3 (US, Europe, and Japan) for the beta versus the one approval for the Xbox 360. They just didn’t have the time and resources to get it done. They’re also way over budget and the timeline already, so the big wigs at Capcom didn’t want to invest even more time and money into a beta test.
I bet this 8 week beta test will make Command 3 a top seller pretty quickly on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The fighting game everyone wants but doesn’t want to say the name (could it be any longer?) is coming this summer to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Here’s a video of Ryu beating the hell out of himself. Yeah, he’s prone to things like that.
I’m going to have to shed a tear and pour one out for Street Fighter: The Later Years. This will mark the last installment of what could be on the funniest live action video game series on the internet.
Get watching to see what happens to our beloved fighters.
Capcom is solely responsible for the greatest selling arcade game to date, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, It has come to light that with a new installment of SF2 on the way, Turbo HD Remix, the game will not be as sharp on the Xbox 360. Capcom is none too pleased. Of course, MS countered with this comment:
Last I checked it was Capcom that had an exception to our file size with Street Fighter II [Hyper Fighting]…. We raised our limit to 150 megs, which seems pretty darn great…. I don’t think it has limited our games in any way. Look at Rez HD. Look at Poker Smash. Look at Undertow. These are very, very, very good games.
With Bionic Commando Arcade on the way, people are eager to see if there is a substantial framerate drop in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. People had limitations and game devs are no exception. Expect a comparison video on this very soon.
A little birdie dropped off a tidbit of information that Grand Theft Auto 1 & 2 as well as Street Fighter Alpha will be coming to the PSN pretty soon. The rumor was published in the most recent issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine.
I think this would definitely be pretty cool, as the first two GTA titles are a bundle of top-down fun. Street Fighter Alpha seems almost a waste as SF2 HD will be coming out this Spring on the PSN and XBLA.
What do you think? Would you buy these games if there added to the PlayStation Store? I’d personally love to see them available for both PS3 and PSP.
You’ve been waiting, some patiently, some not so much. Now is the time to see the first fight in the new Street Fighter Tournament. Break yo’self fool.
According to the ESRB, we should expect to see Street Fighter Alpha on PS3 and PSP in the near future. Usually once ratings are given, the game is close to release.
Street Fighter Alpha is an anime style Street Fighter game that was released on both PS1 and PS2. It looks like this might be a new PS1 Classic being released on the PlayStation Store. I can only hope, as there have been very few releases for what I expected to be a big feature.
Here is the latest and almost monthly installment of the hilarious web series, Street Fighter: The Later Years. Here is Part 7 and if you have missed any of the previous, just type Street Fighter into our search menu to the right. Part 5 has all the old episodes linked. Sonic Fucking Boom! Haha, priceless.
Capcom sent out a press release today to let out a bit more information about the upcoming Street Fighter 4. In a move that will satisfy the most hardcore, SF4 will be a 2D fighter, but use 3D textures.
Capcom is proud to announce the return of four classic “World Warriors” in Street Fighter IV: returning favorites Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim. The characters and environments are rendered in stylized 3D computer graphics (CG), while the game is played in the classic Street Fighter 2D perspective with additional 3D camera flourishes. The traditional six-button controls for the game will return, with a host of new special moves and features integrated into the input system. Mixing tried-and-true classic moves and techniques with all-new, never-before-seen gameplay systems, Street Fighter 4 brings a brand new fighting game to fans the world over.
This is a great move by Capcom. The visual stylings are looking good. Can’t wait for some gameplay videos.
