Street Fighter IV PC Mods Can be a Good Thing: Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs Mr. T

My very brief experience with PC mods in SF IV have not been positive. Everything I have seen so far is an attempt to look up Chun Li’s skirt at her va jay jay or for some God forsaken reason have the Ryu vs Sagat rematch all nude. A clever and non-sexual deviant made this video. There may be some hope for the human race just yet. I bring to you: The Battle of the Rocky III Bosses.

Zangief’s Bare Ass Now Possible for Street Fighter IV on PC

Street Fighter IV Championship Mode DLC Screen

SF IV has just recently dropped for the PC and whenever there is a PC game, people are going to mod it. For those of us with way too much time on our hands, there are skin mods out now for frontal and back nudity for your favorite fighters. Most are creepy beaver mods for the females, but there is plenty of man ass to be had. Just click here for some screenshots. They are SFW but may haunt your dreams. Follow the links after the redirect for instructions how to make yourself a complete sexual weirdo.

Capcom Admits Sagat and Seth Are Overpowered in SFIV

Street Fighter IV Championship Mode DLC Screen

If you go online in Street Fighter IV, inevitably most people will choose Sagat. Why? Because he’s one of the top two most powerful fighters in the game. The other is Seth, the uber-cheap boss from the single player mode. It turns out Capcom made an oopsy with these two fighters as they’re a bit more powerful than anticipated.

Yes, Seth and perhaps Sagat might have turned out a little bit stronger than we expected. [...] A good player of another character can always beat a good Sagat player or a good Seth player. I don’t think it’s too out of proportion, but we do acknowledge that they turned out a bit more powerful than we expected.

If you look at the world’s top Street Fighter IV players, none of them use either Sagat or Seth, which does go to say that it’s not who you pick, it’s how you use them. Still, I wonder if Capcom can re-balance the game a bit with a future patch.

The Schwinghammer Returns…

i-rock-007

Well folks, it’s been a while since anyone has read a solid amount of writing from me these past few months. But having no internet will do that now won’t it?

But that’s all in the past. My internet has been restored due to some good friends moving in my building.  So you will all be reading a considerable increase of my writing. You poor bastards. And you’ll most likely be seeing me pop up in our ‘Game with Loot Ninja’ nights. So watch your asses.

If anyone’s up for a Street Fighter IV match or two let me know also yeah?

I suppose I could have written some long winded ‘I’m back, whoohoo” speech. But having woken up at 6:30 am for the second time in a row, I’m lucky that I can form words that other bipeds can understand. So instead I’ll keep it brief.

Damn, it feels good to be back.

Oh and if you’re one of those people that hate my writing I have something for you too.

Haha. Suck it.

Meh!!

Schwinghammer’s Modified Street Fighter IV Sixaxis

modefied-sixaxis-1

Sometimes when things come together, it is a truly beautiful thing.

As some of you know, I am moderately obsessed with Street Fighter IV. Many of you may not know that I have what they call ‘hitchhiker thumbs’. As a result, using a D-pad does not involve the tip of the thumb, rather the inner part of the joint. The problem in this rarefied condition is that while using the D-pad for a fighting game, the width of my thumb constantly hits the PS3 thumb stick – canceling out any previous action from a split second earlier.

This is massively annoying, especially so when I realize that the PS3 D-pad is far superior to the standard Xbox 360 fare. That’s why I got the PS3 version of SFIV in the first place. For god’s sake.

Championship Mode Brings Hooha Shots to Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter IV Championship Mode DLC Screen

Don’t tell me you haven’t been wondering just what’s going on up the skirts of some of the female fighters in Street Fighter IV. Myself and BJ have had multiple conversations of the sort, many times after a few beers. With the upcoming free Championship Mode DLC for the game, you’ll be able to pan the camera around in Replay Mode and check out the whispering eyes of the ladies.

More importantly (depending on how you look at it), the DLC will bring on tournaments that you’ve been sorely missing since the game dropped earlier this year. I can’t wait to get the shit kicked out of me just like I do without tournaments.

Snatch this up when it drops for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 24th. It’s free, so you don’t have any excuses.

Street Fighter IV: Rankings Chart

sf4Well, here it is. Everyone has heard of personal rankings between some of the best online fighters – which have been pretty good actually. But I’ve been waiting for something a bit more definitive, and this is it.  Capcom-unity.com has released their unofficial rankings list for Street fighter IV. Anyone who has read my articles knows that I’m an immense fan of the series and that IV is the best release yet. The more I play the more I realize how tight and balanced everything is. In retrospect, I would have given SFIV a 9.5 instead of a 9. But it’s a little late now. Oh well. Hindsight is always 20/20.

The most surprising thing is how close everyone is numbers-wise, which is a huge testament to the time the developers took to make sure that the balancing between fighters is as spot on as humanly possible. Even the worst character (Rose) has scores that are really close to the best character (Sagat).  I’ll see if I can’t put up a screen of the chart itself.  Bear with me for a moment.

There we go.

Review: Street Fighter IV

streetfighter_four

Developer: Dimps/Capcom Publisher: Capcom
Release Date: 02/17/2009 Platforms: PS3, XBOX 360, PC

Hey baby, do you like Street Fighter? They call me ‘The Hadoken’ because I’m down, right, fierce…

Well, It’s finally here everybody. The first true sequel in the Street Fighter series since 1997. I’m more than pleased to say that Street Fighter IV lives up to almost all the huge expectations that have been placed upon it in past months. Capcom had successfully whet our appetites with the outstanding Super Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix. They now stand poised to show us what a real current-gen fighting game is supposed to look and play like.

And hot damn, we had no idea what we’ve been missing. Check this out.

SSFIITHDR Dev Rips Street Fighter IV

street_fighter_4_vdhalsim

Some dissension among the ranks over at Capcom. David Sirlin, the designer behind Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, had some not so nice things to say about Street Fighter IV. Mainly, the game is overly complex and difficult.

Qcf x 2 +PPP all the time, extra button presses to throw, extra button presses to roman cancel, and many, many extremely difficult link combos work in concert to create that impenetrable wall of execution between you and the actual game (the interaction between you and your opponent). I wish we could get rid of all this stuff and focus more on the gameplay itself.

I can’t say I disagree completely. Some of the Ultra Combo button presses are a bit tough for first time and casual fighting game fans. The difficulty issue is definitely a real one, as getting through on Medium is a chore for even some seasoned fighting game veterans.
