Splinter Cell Conviction Dated for February

Splinter Cell Conviction Screen

It was one of my favorites coming out of E3, but was sadly pushed back from the now-ish time frame until 2010. Finally, Splinter Cell Conviction has a release date. Sam Fisher is making a comeback on February 23rd next year. It’s not that far off.

Spring 2010 is really shaping up to be a monster season, possibly the biggest Spring ever. While I really want to play these games, I don’t want to rush through the quality titles of this Holiday season to get there. Now, back to ODST.

How Ubisoft Redefined Splinter Cell

Splinter Cell: Conviction made a drastic change from what was shown a few years ago. I think most people at E3 was blown away by the game, myself included. But just how and why did Ubisoft make the changes to redefine the game? Check out this behind closed doors video they put together on that just that topic.

First Splinter Cell: Conviction Trailer

Ubisoft held it’s worldwide UbiDay yesterday to show off all the new games coming out in the next year. One of the titles they showed was the new Splinter Cell: Conviction coming later this year.

Sam Fisher looks bad-ass with hair and a beard. Although I’m not sure why he’s beating up a crowd of people in a park in broad daylight…

We all love Sam Fischer. I mean, he’s one hell of a bad ass. And it looks like he’s going to continue those ways in the next installment of the game, Splinter Cell: Conviction.

The game begins with Fischer as Third Echelon agent as always, but you turn rouge after find out there may be some internal threats.

CVG got some more info:

You start off, as usual, as a Third Echelon agent on a mission to help fellow agent Anna Grimsdottir, who is said to be in danger. But things take a turn as Sam notices he is being fed false or incomplete intel and given the wrong equipment, spurring his decision to go rogue.

It’s also rumored that, while stealth is still the main aspect of the game, Ubisoft will be focusing more on daylight missions for the next installment of the game.

Stay tuned as more details emerge.
