Just a reminder to set your DVR for 9pm ET tonight for Spike TV for this year’s Video Game Awards. Should be much better than last year.
The biggest part is the new trailers and reveals for a bunch of new quality titles, like Uncharted 2, GTA IV The Lost and the Damned, and a few others.

Spike TV’s sixth annual Video Game Awards will be broadcast live on December 14th from Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, California. GTA IV leads all nominees with a total of eight while Metal Gear Solid 4 earned seven and LittleBigPlanet along with Fallout 3 have earned six each. Don’t worry kids, Gears of War 2 has been nominated for game of the year but faces stiff competition.
There are a total of 26 awards up for grabs this year along with musical entertainment by 50 cent. The show will also include world premiere footage from various unnamed games. Just in case that isn’t enough to make you watch this year’s show, there are quite a few major celebrities that have an opportunity to win an award for the category “big name in the game”. Whether or not they are physically present to accept the award remains to be seen.
