Spider-Man 3 had me intrigued since the minute it was announced. You could probably even say before it was announced, since we all knew it would be coming along side the movie. Especially after playing the terrific Spider-Man 2 game, this was highly anticipated. After reading some previews of the game, I became pretty skeptical about the game. Some of my fears were dashed, some weren’t. Here is the breakdown of some of the facets of Spider-Man 3 Collector’s Edition:
Presentation and Graphics: The first thing I was hit with was the loading screen, where the game is pre-loaded onto the hard drive. The fonts here looked like they came out of a Windows 3.1 installation application, with very simple backgrounds. I think for the “next-gen” of gaming, something more elaborate is needed. Let’s face it, the graphics are nothing to write home about here. This is especially evident during cut-scenes. Character faces are jagged, have huge bug eyes, and have the worst facial expressions you can think of. The graphics of the city aren’t that bad, and when roaming the city, they aren’t too bad either. 2.5 of 5
This fall, Activision will bring us what hopes to be a good Spiderman game as opposed to the last few which left something to be desired. They have just launched a website, http://spiderman-friend-or-foe.com/ which will have updated information as well as the option to subscribe to news about the upcoming release. The game promises to take the series in a new direction and fans of the blockbuster comic really hope they do.
Looks like today is Trailer Day here at Loot Ninja. Here’s the launch trailer for Spider-Man 3, which comes out today on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii (among others).
If you’re a SpiderMan fan, you surely remember Dr. Curt Conners and The Lizard. Good news if you do, because they’re in the new SpiderMan 3 game for Xbox 360 and PS3. Here’s some cool footage.
You can never get enough Spiderman in your life. It’s a proven medical fact. Errr. Ummm. Anyway…
Here’s a new trailer from the upcoming Spiderman 3 game for next-gen consoles. The footage shows gliding around as the Goblin around New York City taking on Peter Parker. I’m not sure if this is included in the standard game, as Chris Archer previously confirmed the Goblin gameplay would be part of the PS3 Collector’s Edition only.
Today we have a shortage of HD love. Maybe we’ll find some and update this so you don’t get sad.
GameTrailers got a chance to interview Chris Archer, the Executive Producer on Spiderman 3. If you never played the previous Spiderman games on PS2 and Xbox, go rent them or pick them up used. It’s tons of fun to swing around the city and thwart crime. Yes, I used the word thwart.
Anyway, for Spiderman 3, most of the game engine was overhauled, web swinging and fighting in particular. I love the fact that with the PS3 Collector’s Edition you get to play as the Goblin with SIXAXIS controls. I think that sold me on the PS3 version.
I’ll let Chris Archer explain it all. He did make the game.
We're like Spaceballs... we're making Loot Ninja everything. Coming soon we'll have hats, shirts, hoodies, possibly banana hammocks if one Editor has his way...
Check out the shirt prototypes here and the hats here
