So we first spotted a creepy Sack Boy at TGS and now we bring you a scary Sonic? Looks like a werewolf Sonic costume popped up at TGS and started walking around the show, who knew that Sonic was a werewolf? Is TGS not allowed to have cute and cuddly costumes anymore? Did we miss a memo that went out again?
Looks like in the newest issue of Nintendo Power a new Sonic game is going to be revealed, at least that is what the cover story supposedly says. Looks like Sonic is coming to the Wii in Sonic & The Black Knight, a first look to be revealed in this months Nintendo Power.
I possibly call shenanigans on this one. Why would you give Sonic a sword? Sonic never had weapons, its like giving Mario a shotgun! Although the Wii motion sensing would make sense for sword swinging purposes I think choosing Sonic is a bad move. What do you think? Real or fake?
We all thought Sonic was dead. You could not find him anywhere. Was he stuck up someone’s ass like Lemmiwinks? Turns out he is alive and well and in a new Sonic game that looks actually really, really good. Sonic Unleashed is coming our way soon. Good to see him not in someone’s ass.
These realistic paintings of video game characters are really creeping me out. The newest is Sonic the Hedgehog. Looks rabid to me. Might want to run away from that thing before you get infected.
The artist is pretty good, but damn these things make me want to stay far away from the characters.
This is an interesting look through the time-line of Sonic and his many many games. Early on Sonic was a strong franchise that rivaled Mario and the Nintendo camp but our blue speedy friend did hit some road bumps along the way and unfortunately lost some credibility with gamers. Luckily the newest iteration of Sonic, Sonic Unleashed looks like the truth, lets hope it helps redeem our Blue Spikey haired friend.
Ooooo Solid Snake, first you choke out Sonic and now we find out that you are a sexual predator. What next Kirby a drug dealing kingpin? This video has some really funny scenes, I like the very beginning with the audio and there is a great shot of Princess Peach doing some not so Princess like things. Enjoy.
Sonic was always a wise ass and you knew one day he would cross the wrong guy, well looks like it was Snake. I like the “You’re too slow” cut to a montage theme. Perhaps the most priceless moment is the neck snapping crunch at the end, oh Snake you rascal you, hilarious.
The last next gen Sonic game was pretty bad, but there have been some screenshots floating around the web and now a video has surfaced of what appears to be a new Sonic adventure. We all here hope that it not bullshit and the game doesn’t suck. We shall see. In the meantime, check this out.
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams on the Wii is very unique compared to any other titles out there, but is almost identical to its Saturn original counterpart. It is a spin off of the classic Sega Saturn NiGHTS game from the late 1990’s, now updated with Wii controls. The game is great as a sequel, but a lot has happened in the last ten years that make this title a bit dated.
Presentation & Graphics:
Very vibrant game that tries hard to be unique, but at times falls on it’s face. The cutesy design gives way to some odd shaped bosses and grows tiring eventually. I had a chance to play some of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams on the Wii and let me say that this game is very unique. It is a spin off of the classic Sega Saturn NiGHTS game from the late 1990’s, but since I never had a chance to play that vesion I figured this one would be a good time to start.
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is an interesting game to say the least that focuses on visual stimulation over anyhting else. NiGHTS is super colorful and kind of reminds me of Sonic on halucinagens. You are a boy that enters the dream world and melds with this Jester (which I am not sure is male or female?) to fight in the dream world.
The game aside from focusing on visual popping graphics and being colorful also pays heavy attention to the flying dynamic of the main character. The main way to get around the worlds is to fly and this for the most part is fun, but the controls are a bit wonky and will take some getting used to before you can begin to enjoy the game. You can contorl the main character with the Wii remote, nunchuk or classic controller, I suggest using the nunchuk and analog stick so you don’t lose your mind.
