Last night the wife and I had a few friends over for New Years Eve. Lots of alcohol was involved, and then we busted out the video games. A few people at the party were regular readers and commentators here at Loot Ninja, but some had never touched video games before. So we started out easy with a bit of Scene It for Xbox 360. Holy crap did everyone get into it. After a lot of screaming, laughing, and 3 Long Games later, we moved on to Rock Band.
Yes, Rock Band is a lot of fun when everyone is drunk. Sure, you can’t play on Expert too well (my brother in law can attest to that), but it’s damn fun. We rocked out to a bunch of songs, mostly with me singing (after I gave up the drum set). We gained a lot of fans for the band I have, Duck Sauce.
All in all, tons of fun. It actually made one of my friends consider buying a video game console (he’s already calling asking what to buy today or tomorrow). Hope your New Years parties were just as fun. I literally just woke up from mine (2pm EST). Let us know if you celebrated the dawn of 2008 with some games.
Now I am drinking Ferrari-Carano Siena. Its a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese from California. It too, is very good. Veeeeeerrryyyy gooooooood (so good it gives you morning wood my buddy Ross says-dork).
With twenty-one different versions out already, Scene It? has come at last (and perhaps unexpectedly) to the XBOX 360 with Lights, Cameras, Action!. Plus, it comes packed in with four wireless controllers. Hazahh!!
Scene It? is a multi-faceted movie trivia game, meaning that you don’t just answer questions based on movie clips like other DVD trivia games, it much more varied. Game modes include ‘Credit Roll’ where you guess the movie based on the cast, ‘Child’s Play’ has you guess the movie from an invisible ‘child’ who draws a picture until you get the answer, and ‘Quotables’ where you have to finish lines from famous movies. Lets discuss.

The game looks like it may be halfway decent. There are a few things that are noticeable wrong about this. One, its a Friday night and there are like 5 above average girls and not one guy seems like he is trying to bang them. Two, no booze. Three, is that apartment serious? That would be about 2 million bucks in NYC. Some whiskey, some painkillers, and maybe we got ourselves a game of strip Scene It. Might not be a bad idea. For 60 bucks, no way. Maybe 40 tops if the 4 controllers are included.
