GTA: Chinatown Wars on Sale for iPhone This Weekend

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Rockstar is throwing up a discount on Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for your iPhone or iPod Touch this weekend. Starting tomorrow and running until 11:59pm ET on Sunday February 14th, you can snag the game for 30% off. If you’re horrible at math, that means you can get the game for $6.99 instead of $9.99.

Haven’t read up much on the iPhone version yet? Check out Ryan’s awesome review of the game. And even if you bought and played Chinatown Wars on your DS or PSP, it can’t hurt having a version in your pocket at all times when you just find that urge to jack up a Triad.

Don’t Forget Steam’s Big Holiday Sale!!

steam sale

As reported a few days ago right here,  Steam is still offering games at huge discounted prices!! Just about every game offered on Steam is discounted, some as much as 80%. I sat here for over an hour picking out games to buy and ended up with a Star War Premier pack for 50% off. This includes KOTOR and 9 other Star War games for $24.99. I also got Torchlight for $4.99, some Indie games like Braid and Lumines for $2.99 and Dragon’s Age for 25% off for $37.49. Need Left 4 Dead 2? $37.99. You get the picture, super prices to try games you might not otherwise play. Every day they are offering special deals on certain games for an even higher discounted price. This sale ends on Jan 3rd so if you like PC games and you like saving money, take a look!!!

Steam Winter Sale on Now

Screenshot

The only thing about the holiday season I enjoy other than copious amounts of egg-nog is the Steam Winter Sale, where you can pick up fantastic titles like Mirror’s Edge, Grand Theft Auto 4, and Defense Grid: The Awakening for under ten bucks – or in some cases, under five.

Each day, Steam will have a new batch of deals – so keep an eye on that page.  To put this in perspective, back in 2007, I picked up Bioshock for five clams, and this was the year it released.  Great deal if you ask me.

Torchlight Adds Steam Achievements, Goes on Sale for $10

Torchlight Screen

If you’re a fan of Diablo-style games, you better fire up Steam quickly. Torchlight just received an update to add 60 new Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud integration so your saves and characters follow you from PC to PC. To celebrate the new update, the game is 50% off this weekend only, dropping the price to $10.

Karl is working on a review for Torchlight, but early signs from him point to it being terrific. I highly recommend picking this one up for $10. Come on, you’ve bought way worse shit in your life for that price.

Plants vs. Zombies for $5

pvz

I don’t think it is legal to get married to a video game (yet), but if it was, I’d make sure to elope with PopCap’s Plants vs. Zombies.  The game itself is an accurate representation of how exactly vegetables and flowers would handle the zombie apocalypse.  Plus, it’s really goddamn addicting.

Steam has a sale on good ol’ PvZ till November 26th – for $5.  That’s half off, and about a quarter of what I originally paid for it.  If you haven’t played Plants vs. Zombies, there is no longer an excuse.  The game runs on pretty much any computer, and you’ll most certainly get ten bucks worth of enjoyment out of the game – take my word for it.

Get Plants vs. Zombies on the Cheap

Plants vs Zombies Screen

Look, if you haven’t played Plants vs. Zombies yet, I feel sorry for you. PopCap hit yet another one out of the park with their take on tower defense. It’s worth every penny of the normal $19.99 price point, but if you sleep on this at under $10, someone should smack the shit out of you.

If you head on over to PCGameStore, you can snag a copy for $6.99. If Steam if your bread and butter, they have it on sale for $9.99. Either way, this is a must buy. I’ll repeat myself for those glancing over that sentence waiting for their Friday work day to end. Plants vs. Zombies is a must buy.

Get off your rump, pull out that wallet, and skip lunch today if you have to, because you’ll be doing yourself a favor by purchasing this game.

Get Killzone 2 Map Packs on the Cheap Tomorrow

Killzone 2 Flash and Thunder Map Pack Screen

I have a feeling tomorrow’s release of the Napalm & Cordite Map Pack for Killzone 2 will be the final one released for the game. Sony will be bundling all three maps packs together for the cool price of $11.99. These sales usually happen once all of the content has been released, as in the case of Warhawk.

Now, I could be off the mark, by my Spidey Sense tells me that we won’t be seeing any more Map Packs for the game. Most developers stop at the three Map Pack plateau. Maybe Guerrilla Games is hard at work on their next project?

Either way, the “3 for the price of 2″ deal is pretty sweet. If you haven’t picked up any of the Killzone 2 Map Packs yet, I would highly recommend doing so this week with the sale. They’re among some of my favorites in the game.

The iPhone Game Sales Continue – Toki Tori Now $0.99

Toki Tori iPhone Sale Screen

If you haven’t played Toki Tori, go shell out the $0.99 entry fee right now to get the game for your iPhone or iPod Touch. Chillingo is joining the “let’s get huge sales numbers by selling for a dollar” crowd, following the likes of Peggle and Topple 2, among others.

Toki Tori is a puzzle/platformer with an enormous amount of content for the price. It was worth the price of admission at $4.99, but if you sleep on this at $0.99, someone should throw your iPhone in a river.

Tiger Woods for iPhone On Sale, It’s Worth the Price

Tiger Woods PGA Tour iPhone Screen

Tiger Woods PGA Tour for the iPhone is now 30% off, so you can grab the game for $6.99 instead of its normal $9.99. If you haven’t bought this game yet and like golf, go grab this one now. No, I mean it, go now.

Most of you know my affection for golf and golf games. I’ve been playing Tiger Woods on my iPhone the past week and absolutely love it. It’s easily the best golf game I’ve played on the iPhone (surpassing my previous favorite, Let’s Golf!). The courses, PGA Tour mode, and the amount of players to choose from are all amazing for the price. If you immediately want to play the 18th at Pebble Beach or the the 17th at TPC Sawgrass, you can.

I haven’t had this much fun with a portable golf game since the first Tiger Woods game on the PSP. You can play with up to 4 people by passing your iPhone around, which is a nice feature. The only thing missing is some form of online or ad-hoc multiplayer. Even without that, this game is awesome and worth every penny.
