Rock Band Video of the Day – October 22nd Edition

Gotta love System of a Down. I remember a few cover bands in college playing Chop Suey at the local bars and getting all sauced up. Ahhh the good old days. Check out an expert drum run of the track in Rock Band with a full combo. Holla.

Rock Band Downloads of the Week – October 18th Edition

Nirvana, bitches. Need I say more? This week, 7 tracks from the band that made grunge THE way to be will be showing up on your Rock Band DLC list.

  • Breed
  • Lounge Act
  • On a Plain
  • Polly
  • Something in the Way
  • Stay Away
  • Territorial Pissings

You can snag these at the normal Bat-time on the normal Bat-channels (if you’re really really dumb, that means Tuesday on the Xbox 360 and Thursday on the PS3). The tracks will run you the usual $1.99 (160 MS Points) each or $10.99 (880 MS Points) for the pack. You know you want them. Do it.

Rock Band Track Pack 2

It looks like Harmonix is as busy as a beaver trying to capitalize off of retail discs.  There seems to be another disc (not the AC/DC one) waiting to be released this year and it is called Rock Band Track Pack 2.  Wait you say, when did I purchase the first Rock Band Track Pack?  Well, if you are a Xbox 360 owner you never have.  The first track pack disk was released solely on the PS2 and Wii.

Now on to the details.  According to xbox360achievements.org the retail release date is said to be November 18th at the price of $29.99.  At this time, there isn’t an official track listing but the achievements give some of them away.  Speaking of achievements, there will be 12 of them totalling 250 points. The previous track pack disk contained 20 songs, so the price seems a little steep for people who might already own some of the songs included on the disk.  If you don’t already own any of the songs and achievements have some monetary value to you, it might be worth a purchase, you do the math.

Rock Band AC/DC Expansion Getting Achievements

Are you picking up the AC/DC Live expansion for Rock Band in a few weeks at Walmart? If you’re an achievement whore, you might want to try and make that happen. The expansion will net you an additional 250 gamerscore points over 12 Achievements on the Xbox 360. No official word on PS3 Trophies, but I have a feeling things will be the same.

Most of the achievements are song based, meaning you need to get 5 stars on certain tracks of AC/DC Live to earn your keep. Check out the whole list and count down the days until you can scream like Brian Johnson or shred the axe like Angus Young.

Rock Band Video of the Day – October 14th Edition

We told you earlier about the Dr. Feelgood album. So you can make a better informated decision, here’s an expert drum run on the album’s title track. Get some.

Rock Band Downloads of the Week – October 14th Edition

Guess what? Mötley Crüe really is coming to Rock Band today. Rumors flew around that the band’s Dr. Feelgood album would be dropping on Rock Band, but it’s actuall true. Today, you can grab everything from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Thursday, PS3 users get their lovin’.

  • “Dr. Feelgood”
  • “Slice of Your Pie”
  • “Rattlesnake Shake”
  • “Kickstart My Heart”
  • “Without You”
  • “Same Ol’ Situation (S.O.S.)”
  • “Sticky Sweet”
  • “She Goes Down”
  • “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)”
  • “Time for Change”

You can snag the whole album for $15.99 (1280 MS Points) or the usual $1.99 (160 MS Points) for each track. You know the drill. Get downloading.

Rock Band Video of the Day – October 9th Edition

The Offspring was pretty huge in the late 90s and early 2000’s. I had a few of their CD’s, one of which had Gone Away. I liked it then, I like it now. The song was released this week as DLC in Rock Band, so naturally we’ve got an expert drum run for you here. Fire it up, people. Fire it the fuck up.

AC/DC Rock Band Expansion Coming to Walmart with Achievements

Wal-Mart is going to have some exclusive AC/DC content for Rock Band soon with a standalone disc of one of their concerts, the Castle Donington Show in 1991. It’ll run you $39.99 for the 18 tracks. It’s completely standalone, so you can play through the Tour mode, although there will be no Score Duel, Tug of War, or any online components. The good news is that you can export the tracks (only one time per disc is allowed) to your Xbox 360 or PS3 to play them in the normal version of Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Sorry, Wii and PS2 owners, no exporting for you.

Since the product is standalone, it will include unique Achievements and Trophies. Some of them will be song specific, the others we just don’t know about yet. Stay tuned on this one as a bunch of people will be spending the money to get the extra whoring points, you can bet on it.
