Madden 09
Our condolences to Brett Favre, no good can come of this announcement seeing the great running record of the Madden curse, but at least he is ready for retirement. Let’s see if the cover athlete trend continues with Madden, will we get a report of Brett Favre falling down the stairs and breaking his neck this year?

Leisure Suit Larry goes Mobile

LarryVivendi Games announced the return of everyone’s favorite hero coming out of retirement and into your mobile phone… Leisure Suit Larry. The game slated to be named Leisue Suit Larry: Love for Sail will be available in Europe in early June and then will come state side in September.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Larry Laffer, a.k.a. Leisure Suit Larry from his glory days in the 80’s on my Apple IIC. Larry always packed in some great crude humor and had decent gameplay, how great would it be to see a good version of Larry spawn on a next generation console!? I say bring back the mature rated games and let’s start with Leisure in HD. Until then we just need to get it on our cell phone.

Ken Kutaragi Will Retire in June

Ken Kutaragi ImageIn a move that was semi-expected (either retiring or being fired), Ken Kutaragi has announced his plans to retire from Sony in June.

Many believe that Ken has passed his prime and new blood is needed at Sony to help the PlayStation brand. Is Kaz Hirai the answer? I don’t know, but he’s going to be the new President and group CEO once Kutaragi leaves.

“I am happy to graduate from Sony Computer Entertainment after introducing four platforms to the PlayStation family,” Kutaragi said in a written statement. “It has been an exciting experience to change the world of computer entertainment by marrying cutting-edge technologies with creative minds from all over the world. I’m looking forward to building on this vision in my next endeavors.”

Whatever his business decisions were which may have caused this, Ken Kutaragi is still the father of the PlayStation, and we’re grateful for all he brought to the brand.
