It seems Sony has hired a terrific ad company. Check out the latest TV ad for Resistance 2. Great commercial! Not as good as the Mad World Gears commercial, but it’s up there. You know you want to watch it again and again.
I’ve had the pleasure of spending the past few days with the Resistance 2 beta with both online multiplayer and co-op. While I played the first game briefly, I never got deep into either the single or multiplayer aspects. But after spending a good deal of time with the beta for the sequel, I can see this taking up a lot of my multiplayer gaming time this Fall.
It’s not the best experience graphically, but it’s not bad either. Character models and the environments all look good, but I’ve seen better. You can chalk this up in the “it’s a beta” category. Sounds, on the other hand, are terrific. Various weapon firing, human and Chimera screams, and environment sound effects are done very well. You’ll want to turn up your surround sound system on this one.
The time is growing near for Resistance 2 to drop on PS3 gamers. November is right around the corner. Check out a new cinematic from the game, called Time Bomb. Me likey.
If you want to be in the lottery for a Resistance 2 beta ticket, you better sign up soon. I have a feeling that they will get so many apps, the site will close, much like MGS4 did. Click through and enter. You will only need your PSN name and email.
One of the flagship titles for the PS3 finally has a release date. Resistance 2 is coming November 4th in the US. Good stuff. Even better stuff is what’s coming in the game’s Collectors Edition:
A lot of really nice stuff there. However, it’s a $20 price bump as the CE will run you $79.99. If you’re down for this thing, jump all over it. I want the Chimera figure.
So I’m driving to Delaware for my overnight stay with my parents on my way to North Caroline for vacation. I get a call on my cell. The caller ID shows (000) 000-0000. Hmmm. I don’t answer, obviously. Then my iPhone tells me I have a voicemail. Upon listening, I get creeped out.
The message is the girl from the videos at Project Abraham, the viral website for Resistance 2. She’s telling me how hard the decision is to send troops to die, and help join the cause. Very cool, very creepy. Good job in that respect.
I’m not sure if this call when out to press only, but Sony is doing a damn good job marketing this game. I’m extremely excited for it, especially with all the viral stuff they have going on. If you haven’t checked out Project Abraham yet, get over there and see what’s up.

Teasers just aren’t enough, and Insomniac is going to deliver the goods. This Friday night on GameTrailers TV on Spike, you’ll get to see the very first gameplay footage from Resistance 2. I know I’m excited.
If you don’t want to deal with the SD action on Spike, head over to GameTrailers on Saturday and check it all out in glorious HD. Or you could spend money and download the episode on the Xbox Live Marketplace, but I’m sure you’re all going to take the free option.
Sony day is coming on May 6 and the inside scoop is that there will be a playable demo for Resistance 2 according to a recent forum post on NEOGAF from a writer at insomniacunion. This highly anticipated shooter is supposed to be steps ahead of its better than average predecessor.
An Insomniac Games employee has written in the NeoGAF boards and confirmed that a Resistance 2 demo will be present during the Sony PlayStation day on May 6, two days from now. It is likely that impressions will leak out of the press-only event.
As a studio with direct influence over the game, this might not be shenanigans, but feel free to call them.
Holy crap. These screens looks amazing. Hopefully the final product reflects what we’re seeing here and the gameplay is solid. Either way, take a look and what you can expect from Resistance 2 later this year.
