Everyone’s favorite tool swinging platformer is all set to make his debut on the PS3, as Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction has gone gold.
The game will hit store shelves on October 30th, one week later than the previous release date of October 23rd. The demo will be available on the PlayStation Network on October 11th.
If you’re too impatient to wait for the demo, go hit up GameStop and pre-order the game and you can get a copy of the demo now.
The new Ratchet and Clank title for the PS3 has some weight behind it, running around at 22GB of the max 25GB of the Blu-Ray disk. Yeah, that’s pretty big. According to PSU, even without the localizations, the title couldn’t fit on a DVD9.
That’s not it either. Ratchet and Clank Future will run at a blazing 60fps at both 720p and 1080i. Sweetness! Insomniac made it clear that all future PS3 titles will run at 60fps, which is great for PS3 gamers. Yes, that includes the upcoming sequel to Resistance Fall of Man.
Ratchet will tear onto store shelves October 23rd in the US, with a demo hitting the PlayStation Store October 4th.
Jak and Daxter might see a reunion on the PS3 soon, if EGM has it right. A user on the PS3 Forums received his issue early. In the “Q-Tips” section of the magazine, EGM states:
“Bummed developer Naughty Dog’s first PS3 title isn’t a Jak and Daxter game? Well, you shouldn’t be, my spies say they’re making it next.”
Hopefully the do it justice like Ratchet and Clank is seeing in it’s PS3 debut. These sequels are great, but I’m think some new IP would work even better.
The PlayStation Store could soon be loaded with some amazing demos. We got Heavenly Sword today, and could see Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction sometime soon.
In an interview with ShackNews, Ryan Schneider, the Marketing Director for Insomniac Games, let the world know the demo is done and in Sony’s hands for future release.
Well, our E3 demo is certainly finished and media have received copies of it for preview coverage. What Sony chooses to do with it, and when, it really is in their hands. The demo is finished–I mean, you saw it [at E3], you played it–and when it comes out, we have a rough idea, but you never know. I think the PlayStation Store is a fluid storefront, and anything can happen.

I can confirm that the demo will be downloadable via the PlayStation Store. Only Sony can tell you exactly when that will be though.
Four words can describe how I feel… Giggity giggity; giggity goo. This game has been shaping up to be my most anticipated game of the year.
PlayStation Premier was this week, an event where all things PlayStation were shown off in Japan. The event brought a new trailer for Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
Here’s some more gameplay footage of Ratchet and Clank Future for the PS3. It’s been said by a few other people, and I’ll say it too. Sony wanted games to look like Toy Story on earlier PlayStations… they’re a bit late, but I’ll be damned if this doesn’t look like a Pixar movie.
Platforms have been lacking recently. Hopefully the new Ratchet and Clank Future for PS3 can remedy that problem. Here’s some gameply footage to see if it holds up. Looks pretty damn good to me.
Sony and Insomiac today released some new screens for the new title in the Ratchet and Clank series for the PS3.
I have to say, these looks beautiful. Coupled with the video we saw a few weeks ago, this game looks to be really coming together. Can’t wait to play this one.
