Games on Demand Pricing Still Sucks

Rainbow Six Vegas Screenshot

Microsoft added two new games today to their Xbox 360 Games on Demand service, Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Both games are priced at $29.99 in the US. A quick look at GameStop’s website shows you can pick them a bit cheaper.

Call of Duty 3 runs $14.99 used at GameStop, while R6V2 runs $24.99 used (and $29.99 new). I can understand pricing that game at $29.99 for Games on Demand, but CoD3 is a bargain title at this point. Asking gamers to fork over thirty bones for the game is a slap in the face.

It’s going to take gamers talking with their wallets to change the pricing schemes for Games on Demand. Don’t buy this stuff at these prices. Go out and pick up a used copy of the game for much cheaper. You’ll have something to sell later when you don’t want or need the game anymore.

There are rumors that these videos are skewed to one side or another, but someone like me who has both consoles would like to at least compare the games and then decide which one to purchase. Word is the 360 is a little better, but see for yourself.

The game finally hit the shelves today and 2006′ s breakthrough shooter looks to be another great installment of the famed series. Just in case you were on the fence, here is one last look and final trailer of the game.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 – Casino Gameplay Footage

Ubisoft’s RB6: Vegas 2 should be a great addition to the already storied franchise. The first game was outstanding but now has the bar set by COD4 for multiplayer. As long as the single player lives up and the Co-op continues to develop, this should be a borderline must have.

The complete list of 47 achievements for RB6:V2 have just been released. Click here for the entire list. Don’t worry, there are no spoilers here. All 47 are revealed but they do not give any plot details. The single and multiplayer achievements are almost identical to last year and all but a few are obtainable outside of extensive gaming. Still burns my ass that I need to buy the Xbox Camera for the last one. Not worth it.

Rainbox Six Vegas 2: Limited Edition Trailers

RB6 was a huge improvement for FPS and squad based games. Great graphics and an awesome cover system made for a sweet multiplayer and a fulfilling campaign mode. The game returns in a similar setting but new story and hopefully some new weapons and expanded character creation. With COD4 setting the bar, we will see how Vegas adds up. Check it out.

Rainbow Six 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3 Dated

rb6-2.jpgAnyone who is eager to get their hands on the newest installment in Ubisoft’s award winning Rainbow Six series will get their chance in March 2008. There will be entirely new levels to speak of as well as an updated Persistant Elite Creation mode and a new A.C.E.S. system that rewards the player for their tactical prowess. An example would be unlocking sniper rifles for getting a ton of headshots. Expect more on this title when we hear it.
