The Prince finally hits next gen and here is a first look at the totally messed up world he is living in. The game looks very good, but seems heavily dependant on climbing around and jumping. If this is done correctly, the game will be great, but if the camera sucks, we might have another NG2 on out hands. Great game, great controls, totally debilitating camera. Check it out and decide if this is worth the hype its getting.
Remember Prince of Persia back in the day, well this version is nothing like, think God of War meets Heavenly Sword action. This clip is exclusive from the recent Ubiday that Ubisoft held to show of the newest version of Prince of Persia among other titles. The story finds great and the voice actor they chose is phenomenal, too bad I don’t think this is actual gameplay footage, but instead just cut scenes. The gameplay that I have seen so far looks to be almost cell shaded in nature, although the cutscenes look beautiful!
It’s not Orlando Bloom. Previous reports were wrong. Just who will play the nimble blade-wielding Prince? Everyone’s favorite psycho kid, Donnie Darko. That’s right, Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing Dastan.
He’ll be joined by Gemma Arterton as Tamina, the exotic princess, as they join forces to stop mean people from getting their hands on the Sands of Time. Yeah, we all know how that turns out, we played the games.
Hopefully this will end up as a decent video game based movie. We all know the debacles that have come in the past, so only time will tell. With Jerry Bruckheimer at the helm, it may end up being pretty good.
Want to see some of the artwork of the new Prince of Persia? Watch as the game’s character artist draws the prince (sped up of course). He looks pretty bad ass, in that Street Fighter IV type of way.
A great franchise is getting back on its feet after some lackluster titles thanks to Ubisoft bringing Prince of Persia back to the forefront. PoP: The Sands of Time was outstanding and The Enemy Within was god awful. Its good to see a old story get reinvented instead of trying to sell us some new character we could give two fucks about. Not too much has been said other than the game should be ready by the end of this year. Here is the official press release.
In an effort to cast the most non-Persian actor possible, Orlando Bloom will be playing the lead role of the Prince in the upcoming Prince of Persia movie.
To prove the fact they didn’t want to have an actual Persian actor, Zac Efron came in second for the role. Yeah, both look oh so Persian. Then again, neither did the guy who played Xerxes in 300.
Bloom is set to make $40 million for his role as the Prince in the movie trilogy. Yeah, that’s a shit ton of money. The first film, being directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, is set to start filming in May in Morocco.
Here is a video montage if you will comparing the Prince of Persia from the PC, Genesis, and now the Xbox360 arcade version. Although the graphics are not surprisingly different, the level design on story are eerily similar.
Prince of Persia Classic is now available for Xbox Live Arcade for 800 MS Points ($10). It features some much improved graphics, extra puzzles, and a few extra enemies. You have 60 minutes to rescue the princess, just like in the original.

Ubisoft sent word today to Eurogamer that their new Xbox Live Arcade title, a remake of the original Prince of Persia, will see the light of day next Wednesday, June 13th.
The game will see a massive graphical overhaul, as well as get some added puzzles and enemies. You still get 60 minutes to rescue the princess from certain death.
No pricing has been revealed as of yet, but I would expect 800 MS Points due to the huge graphical upgrades.
