PixelJunk Games Too Hard, Patch Coming to Make Them Easier

PixelJunk Monsters Screen 1

If you’ve been struggling with PixelJunk Monsters, Q Games knows you suck at tower defense. They’ve decided to bring out a patch to make it easier for you n00bs out there. In an interview with TheBBPS, Dylan Cuthbert, the developer of all things PixelJunk, had this to say:

  • Monsters will be receiving a free patch that allows the player to progress through the game on Easy, Medium, Hard, or a new Expert mode (which I suggested he name simply “Cuthbert”); this will be available for offline play. Online rankings will maintain the existing difficulty level to maintain fairness.
  • Eden will also be receiving a patch to enable some new modes of gameplay. He described the swinging mechanic as “much too fun to waste on just one set of game rules”. I agree. He also implied that Q-Games is looking into “a more namby pamby mode for the ‘lighter’ people out there”.

Works for me. I’ve had trouble getting through some of the harder levels of PixelJunk Monsters, so maybe I’ll be able to turn down the difficulty and finish the game.

Review: Pixeljunk: Eden (PS3)

PixelJunk Eden Screen

Widely regarded as perhaps the best downloadable game series around, Pixeljunk makes a triumphant return with their latest installment, Eden. The game allows you to explore your own personal garden that is created only by your own constitution. If you are looking for a different kind of game and an artistic masterpiece, you should walk into Eden as soon as you can.

PixelJunk Eden - Pollination Gameplay

I have to say I’ve been a big fan of Q-Games and their PixelJunk Series on the PSN for a while now. The next title in the line will be PixelJunk Eden. The game looks pretty, but it’s not all that well know exactly what you’ll be doing. From this trailer, it seems you’re pollinating and growing various plants and in the level and doing so to some pretty cool beats. Could be really trippy late on a Saturday night…

PixelJunk Eden Debut Trailer

The next game in the line of PixelJunk games for the PSN is PixelJunk Eden. The game is hard to explain, but it’s a psychics-driven puzzle game where you create pseudo-trees to find ways to collect items. At least that’s what I took away from it. The game looks trippy and somewhat along the lines of LocoRoco and Patapon. Given the fact we’ve really likes the first two PixelJunk games, I’d say the excitement level for Eden is fairly high.
