Well now is your chance. Looks like Kim K. is lending her likeness to EA and their new Facebreaker game along with Peter Moore. Kim is a playable in game character and helps promote the new “Photo Game Face” mode that lets players use their camera to import their faces into Facebreaker although I am very skeptical as to how well it will work since the face scans using the camera Tiger Woods were horrible.
Facebreaker is scheduled to drop for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 on September 5. So get your pimp hand ready for Kim K. and no you can’t hit her with anything else in the face, shame on your for thinking it.
Hit the jump to see what she will look like in game. Read More »
New EA boss Peter Moore has been giving some insight into the always anticipated football games coming out late this summer. While admitting NFL Head Coach was not that great (no shit), he states the new one will be more interactive then ever. In important and relevant news, he also announced that for the first time in a long time, Madden will not be coming to the PC:
We knew that our decision to not develop this year’s Madden for the PC would be an unpopular decision in some circles. But I’ll reiterate what I said a couple of weeks ago in this space…the PC presents some very serious business challenges to us in the sports category, particularly because so many of you all are playing your favorite sports games on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. We are committed to shipping a limited number of our games on the PC this year, but we’ve also had to cut a few of our games from the platform. We do have ideas for how to revitalize the PC for sports games and the types of games that are best suited to the platform, and we’ll continue to explore those.
That must be the British way of saying we are giving up on PC sports games because very few people play it. I tried playing FIFA once on a PC and it sucked. We will see how much they “explore” sports titles, but it looks like that lineup will be console only from now on.
The former MS frontman turned EA Sports President, Peter Moore, has thrust himself back into the limelight with his very own blog over at EA Sports. This once face of MS is trying to get his opinions out there on EA’s upcoming projects as well as seem as accessible as possible to the average gamer. I have to commend him on this. Not many bigwigs will ever put themselves in a position to be openly criticised or even engage in conversation. Click the link below for the EA Blog. You can find him at the creative pseudonym, PeterMoore.
If you weren’t lucky enough to go to Times Square for the Madden launch, here’s your chance to see Ozzy Osbourne rocking out at the event.
What really strikes me about this video is the fact that Xbox 360 is plastered EVERYWHERE with the EA logo. It’s almost like PS3 and Wii don’t exist. Peter Moore is sure to make that relationship even stronger. No wonder the Xbox 360 version is superior… Can anyone say payola?
We are seeing more deals involving different dynamic ad agencies and video game developers popping up with the biggest one involving EA and Microsoft. These in game ads are billed as great things and from an advertisers perspective that is getting in product placement opportunities across a widespread demographic they are fantastic, but what do they mean to us the consumer?
Since we are allowing all these ads into our homes involuntarily, will we get an option to turn them off? I paid for a video game not commercials, on television I can change the station but what about my video games, I am forced to sit there and see ads I don’t care for as I race through whatever stage I am on.
Will this dawn of new ad placements in our video games lead to lowering of prices or consoles? I doubt this very much, ads are already in certain games and we all are still paying top dollar. We as video game consumers are not benefiting in any way shape or form, from these new “dynamic” ads, so why should I sit and take them?
So it is confirmed that Peter Moore has decided to step down from the MS crew after joining in 2003. He decided to go over to EA and head up their EA sports camp and make some big bucks, $550 K plus bonuses. (not bad) In Moore’s place steps in Don Mattick a former EA president. Looks like EA and MS had a wifeswap, let’s see how it pans out for the two units.
Microsoft Corp. today announced that Don Mattrick, a former president at Electronic Arts Inc. (EA), will lead the Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), which includes overseeing the Xbox and Games for Windows businesses. Peter Moore, who currently serves as corporate vice president of IEB, has decided to move his family back to the Bay Area for personal reasons and has secured another opportunity in the video games industry.
I wonder if this had something to do with his Moore’s horrible singing during the Xbox/Microsoft E3 conference?
There have been reports that there was a Blu-ray attachment possibly on the way for the Xbox360, but according to Gamerscoreblog, there will is not anything in the works nor is anything planned for Blu-ray support. Here is an excerpt from the interview from Peter Moore.
“‘Just want to clear up a few things surrounding several erroneous stories regarding alleged comments from Peter Moore about Xbox 360 supporting Blu-ray. Simply put…These reports are completely incorrect.”
Seems like all 360 owners will have to seek their blu-ray elsewhere. Sort of disappointing really.
If you somehow managed to get a Xbox360 at the launch in November of 2005 and still have it, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. The staff here at Loot Ninja have gone through no less than 10, yes 10 consoles. Furthermore, we all know the preventive measures that must be taken to ensure the life of the system, but to no avail. Peter Moore, the Xbox exec who is always answering public question about the state of affairs in everything Xbox was asked about the absurdly high failure rate, he replied as we all thought he would, No Comment. Here is an excerpt of his interview courtesy of our friends at 1up:
“I can’t comment on failure rates, because it’s just not something - it’s a moving target. What this consumer should worry about is the way that we’ve treated him. Y’know, things break, and if we’ve treated him well and fixed his problem, that’s something that we’re focused on right now. I’m not going to comment on individual failure rates because I’m shipping in 36 countries and it’s a complex business.”
Wow, thanks Pete. You guys designed an awesome system that doesn’t live up to the high standards and pressures of today’s gaming market, but as long as you are shipping to more countries than UNICEF, I guess we should all leave you alone. And trust me, I know things break. $4000 in Xbox360’s?? Maybe you should give your quality control some better danishes or bagels or something because 2-5% is not bad, but 15% is rid-goddamn-diculous.
Our pals at 1up.com sat down with Peter Moore, the big daddy of all things Xbox for a follow up to the very in-depth to his interview there one year ago. He answers questions such as: What is next for Xbox and the next next gen, the problems with the voice chat and product failure issue, backwards compatibility and much more. If you own an Xbox product, you should definitely give this a read over.
