We had brought you news about Blizzard bringing you Blizzzcon via pay per view and giving out an in game Polar Bear mount for ordering. Well it seems that the Polar Bear Mount is the first item in World of Warcraft to get a special classification, “Account Bound”. What does this mean? Typically high level items become “Soulbound” to your character, which means only that one character can use it, “Account Bound” means that all of your characters on your account can now use this item. This is an interesting turn of events as mounts can be expensive but possibly can now be shared among your different toons. We will keep you posted as to what other items appear with this special designation.
Account bound good or bad, what do you think?

The good folks over at Blizzard are really pushing people to pick up World of Warcraft by having refer a friend programs, free usage if you get AT&T high speed internet and now if you watch BlizzCon on pay per view you can get a free polar bear mount. Not only can you get the mount for free, but if you sign up for DIRECTV you can get the event free as well, so if you don’t have cable yet this could be a sweet deal.
DIRECTV has just announced further details for their pay per view package of BlizzCon coverage, and that the special promotion offering it free with a new subscription is now open. New DIRECTV subscribers in the US who sign up for DIRECTV by September 30 through www.blizzard.directv.com or 800-728-9375 will receive the package for free, while existing DIRECTV customers will be able to order it for $39.95 beginning on September 28.

As some of you may have already heard I had the opportunity to check out UFC 83 Live in Montreal, which was the showcase for the big rematch between Matt “The Terror” Serra and George “Rush” St. Pierre. This was actually my first Live UFC event I have ever been to so the expectations were very high and I have to say that I have been a big UFC fan for a while and watched many events on pay per view, but Live in an arena is un-matched!
The Canadian fans are a lively group and will cheer as loud as they can at any given time, to the point where you can hear them in the restrooms. As this card was full of Canadian born UFC athletes, this was one loud event.
Some spoilers after the jump, so readers beware if you have not seen the matches yet.

Just a reminder that UFC 67: All or Nothing is Live tonight on Pay Per View. This is the first UFC event to be shown live in HD. Hopefully Time Warner will have the HD feed…
Big news regarding the event, The Ultimate Fighter 4 winner Travis Lutter, who was scheduled to fight Anderson Silva for the Middleweight Title, missed weight. The fight will still happen, but not as a title fight. Lutter missed the 185 lb mark by 1.5 lbs after two attempts to weigh in. After the first attempt, he went back for 2 hours to cut more weight, only to lose 0.5 lbs. It’s pretty sad, really. The guy worked his ass off to win TUF 4 and get a title shot, only to have it completely take away by not making weight. Come on man, you just blew your dream on something stupid.
Anyway, should be a great PPV tonight, with the debuts of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Mikco Cro Cop, two of the world’s best.
[Update] So apparently, Time Warner is retarded. I just called and was on hold for 25 minutes to ask about the HD feed for the event. The <sarcasm> wonderful </sarcasm> guy I talked to told me, and I quote, “UFC is never going to provide an HD feed. Wherever you got your information is clearly wrong.” My response: “So the giant banner images on ufc.com and interviews with UFC President Dana White promoted the first HD PPV are all clearly wrong?” He stammered a little bit, then said “Yeah they’re wrong. They’re not talking about any PPV events.” This guy is clearly a winner.
