Once of my favorite video game series of yesteryear was Oddworld. The series has been fairly stagnant of late, with the last release, Stranger’s Wrath, being released on the original Xbox some four years ago. In an interview with Bitmob, series creator Lorne Lanning announced that the original Abe games will be re-released on the PSN in the near future. Huzzah!
Now, when these games will be released is anyone’s guess, although Lanning did say we’d see them “very soon”. Both Abe’s Exodus and Abe’s Oddysee have already been rated by the ESRB and Lanning made no mention of the Munch games in the series, so only time will tell if we see more Oddworld re-released.
To go along with the PSN releases, PC gamers will be able to get a compilation called The Oddbox on Steam. It’ll include both Abe games as well as Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath. Since I roll with a Mac, these won’t be too high on my radar, but you can bet I’ll be buying the PSN releases as soon as they’re available.
I’ll pretend I’m Cousin Larry Appleton and do the dance of joy with an imaginary Balki Bartokomous.
