Most of us out there are trying to save up all of our clams and change we find in the couch cushions trying to get our hands on this year’s biggest titles. $60 bucks for a brand new title is a big chunk of change to swallow for most gamers, so I bring a little breathing room for all of you guys and gals. This might just be what you Loot Ninja gamers need to hold you over until the mass hysteria of Black Friday and Christmas shopping.

I’ve always wanted one of these inductive chargers. They seem so awesome. No plugs, no connectors that have to line up properly. Just place down and Voila!! Charge!! I have had very little experience with PU products, so that heightened my curiosity. Let’s see if that curiosity was rewarded.

This price drop, if it happens at all, will not be as clear cut as the rest. Recent reports show that Wal-Mart had suggested that they will be having roll back prices on the Nintendo Wii. What that price was, no one knows. Now, a leaked Toys R Us ad suggests the price will drop to $199.99. Hmm. Consumers will surely jump at the bit to get a Wii for under 200 bucks, but did it really even need a price drop? Granted the Wii is nowhere near the Xbox 360 and PS3 on the sheer technology scale, but people have been buying it at alarming rates. In a capitalistic economy, things are only worth what people are willing to pay and it seemed the Wii was selling just fine. However, when the two other juggernauts dropped their prices, Nintendo seemed to fall in line to stay in favor with the consumer. I am eager to see if this will boost Nintendo sales and if it will detract from the other consoles in a crowded holiday market during an economic downturn.

Mature titles on the Wii like MadWorld and The Conduit didn’t exactly bust out of the gate in the selling department. That isn’t stopping SEGA from pushing forward to bring more M-rated games to the casual console. Platinum Game’s MadWorld was a depressing showing at your local retailer, but a lot of factors could be at play for why MadWorld just didn’t sell all that well. Too extreme? Some just weren’t a fan of the art style? All of these things SEGA is looking into and studying.
MadWorld was actually on my game list of “must-buy” titles before it was released with its extreme over-the-top blood and gore, as well as trying to figure out the best way to kill or pummel an enemy in fun, creative ways. What zapped it off of my list was its short playing time of less than 8 hours. The Conduit on the other hand was one of those titles that I originally had pegged for “buy to support”. In other words, buy the game in order to support the shrinking mature game catalog for gamers on the Wii. If gamers don’t buy the title, game publishers will lose interest and resort to lighter titles like Kidz: Basketball, or yet another Rig Racer game. I personally don’t want to see another Rig Racer game after they released Rig Racer 2. Hell, nobody does.

A big milestone for the Nintendo Download this week. They reach their 300th game on the Virtual Console, which is great, but, the 300th game is one of significance. I’ll give you a hint: It’s A Zelda game. On the n64. Not Ocarina. Figure that one out. Also a bunch of other stuff you won’t pay for for. Hit the jump for pricing and descriptions.

HEY MAN, I LIKE YOUR PAC-MAN HAT. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ANYWAYS?
People are always talking smack about the Wii these days. Some gamers go so far as to say that it’s destroying video games altogether. That’s being a bit extreme in my opinion. In fact, games like Klonoa remind me of the heyday of gaming. The style of play immediately bring about memories of a classic NES release – with better graphics. Klonoa’s 2D play field, simple controls and cutesy character design will most likely get it labeled as a kids game. And while that may be true, it has enough of that old school nostalgia feeling to hold the interest of anyone who was around for the Super Mario Bros. 1 release. In other words: it might surprise you. Check this out.
