Need for Speed: Undercover Trailer

Here is the trailer for the newest version of Need for Speed: Undercover showcasing one of the main characters form the game, G-Mac, an ex-cop that does not like rules. If he did not like rules then why did he become a cop in the first place? Something tells me that the plot of this game will be about as thick as a piece of paper, which is fine since its a racing game anyway.

I for one have grow tired of the Need for Speed games and haven’t found one to be fun in the last few iterations. The game just has not changed enough or added anything substantial enough for me to become drawn in to the game. The last one I really got into was the version they introduced the drag racing where you could put your car in a ten second race against a couple of other cars, but this was more to fulfill my Fast and the Furious dreams.

Here is the big list of top 100 selling titles over the last 12 months. Pretty interesting to see what the top ten games sold are, especially with FIFA beating Madden, COD4 beating out Halo 3, Pokemon still being in the mix after all these years and Brain Age coming in strong to round out the top 10.

10 - Brain Age 2: More Brain Training in Minutes a Day

7 - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
6 - Need for Speed Pro Street
5 - Madden 08

Burnout Paradise - Xbox 360 Review

Burnout Paradise
Burnout Paradise is EA’s newest iteration of the old Burnout series and really moves away from the tried and true formula of Burnout to a more open world almost Need for Speed feel. Many loyal fans to the old Burnout games will quickly see the change in feel and game play and may be turned away from a solid driving game.

Presentation and Graphics: Burnout Paradise looks great, EA and Criterion really spent a long time perfecting the look of the cars and even more impressive are the wrecks. When you wreck your car in Burnout it opens up a cut scene so you can watch every bone crunching second of the crash and your mangled ride. The most annoying part of the wrecks is that you can’t turn this off so you are forced to watch these often, which gets a bit old fast. The other pet peeve I have about the look of this title is the lack of a driver in your car, so when you wreck your car and the doors fall off all you see is an empty car. 8 of 10

EA Announces ‘Live Race Weekend’ For Need For Speed ProStreet

need-for-speed-prostreet.jpg
This news just came across the wire from our friends from EA. There will be a live race weekend coming up on Xbox Live. This sounds like an awesome, awesome idea. Only problem is… does anyone know for sure when Live is going to be back up. No one is going to want to risk being in a race and have their connection drop.  Click more for the official word.

Criterion won’t use Internet feedback to tune their game

Burnout ParadiseLooks like Criterion was not very happy with he criticism most sites gave the new Burnout Demo, including this one. Alex Ward, Criterion creative director, pretty much lashed out against all those people that didn’t have something nice to say about the demo build.

The demo could never capture the essence of the BP “experience”, says Ward, because of the restrictive nature of a demo. “This new Burnout is an experience that YOU choose how to play rather than us forcing a game structure on you - when the rest of you get to play the full game I am confident you will agree.”

This sounds like a load of crap to me, I really do not like it when game developers put a demo out into the world and then claim that the demo has nothing to do with he final build? Then why the F%^& put it out?

Burnout Paradise City Demo Impressions

Burnout Paradise
OK I am the first to admit that Burnout was a game that I spent many hours playing and mastering, so I was looking forward to this version as I have stated some time now. I grabbed up the demo on the Xbox 360 and fired it up to get in my fill of Burnout mayhem. The demo gives you a section of Paradise City to roam around in and 1 car to do it in , which is pretty good for a demo.

You roam around a small portion of Paradise City in a beat up muscle car and learn about some of the new features of the game, like now you can pull into a garage to fix your car damage. I don’t like the new concept they moved to where you need to drive from event to event, this is modeled after the Need for Speed games, but I am not a big fan. Burnout was all about sheer speed and crashing, not open world environments. Another gripe I have with he game are the constant cutscenes to show off the crashes, OK they are very cool the first few times but then after that they are just kinda boring and time consuming.

Need for Speed: Pro Street Trailer

As is we haven’t had enough street racing games, EA decided that we need another Need for Speed to please our Vin Diesel style racing fetishes.

The game does look beautiful, but I think I’m gonna stick with games like Forza 2, PGR4, Gran Turismo 5, etc.

Here’s your HD lovin.
