The upcoming film, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, is going to be a video game as well.  EA intends to release the game alongside the film for almost every platform imaginable.

“As Hasbro and Paramount Pictures reignite the G.I. JOE® property this year with an all-new toy line and film, EA is excited to play a major role in bringing this icon of pop culture history to a new generation of enthusiasts through interactive gaming,” said Chip Lange, General Manager and Vice President of EA Hasbro.

The new G.I. Joe game’s storyline will take place where the movie leaves off and is said to have 12 playable characters, each with different abilities and weapons.  It will also sport a single-screen cooperative mode.  That’s it folks, no more information exists at this time about the game itself.

The game will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS and mobile devices.  Almost all platforms, just like I promised.  The official press release is after the jump.

Dead Space: Downfall

Dead Space is one of my favorite single player games of the year.  The game had the rare ability to keep my attention focused on the story so it was really a no-brainer to give the animated film a shot.  Dead Space: Downfall is a prequel to the events that took place during the game.  Overall I have to admit I was entertained and that’s the point right?

I am not going to pretend to be a pro when it comes to judging animation in a film.  I am not into anime at all and I barely watch regular animated shows but I can say it kind of feels like a crappy Titan A.E.
