GameStop posted their list of midnight openings for God of War III this coming Monday night. This is game is worth standing out in the cold with a bunch of guys that live in their mom’s basement. Take Tuesday off work. It’s that damn good.
If GameStop isn’t your thing and you don’t like staying up late, make sure to get out on Tuesday to pick up your copy. There’s a very strong possibility that God of War III will be the game of the year, so don’t miss out.

Are you super pumped for Halo 3: ODST? Have you been drinking Game Fuel since you work up this morning? The only cure is a midnight launch! Most GameStop’s are holding midnight events for the launch of ODST and I’ll be attending just to check out the festivities. My local GameStop has advertised a Halo 3 multiplayer tournament while people wait, which should be enjoyable.
How about you? Any of you out there planning to hit up a midnight launch for the day? Are you staying up all night to rock through the campaign or maybe take down waves of Covenant in Firefight? Let us know!

Today is the day. Maybe you are even reading this from the car as you prepare your equipment to enter the dreaded line in anticipation for Fallout 3. If you reside in any of the northern states I would recommend to bring more than a blanket.
Bethesda Softworks and Best Buy have teamed up to bring you a midnight release of Fallout 3 in select cities. Lines will start forming around 3 P.M. local time today. Bethesda’s hometown Best Buy in Rockville, Maryland will be the flagship location with special festivities along with developer signings of your copy of Fallout 3. If you are no where near this location there are plenty of other metropolitan areas to travel to. This is one of the biggest games of the season so if you have any chance at making the midnight launch you should definitely go for it. A list of the select cities will be after the jump.

At the stroke of midnight, gamers will get a chance to experience what the lucky few in the industry already have, Grand Theft Auto IV. Midnight launches were once a thing for obsessive fanboys with afternoon jobs and nothing to do but stand in the cold and wait for a comic book, a game, a deck of role-playing cards, etc. Now midnight launches have taken on a new meaning. Its a time when gamers alike will gather until the clock strikes for one common goal. You will see grown-ass men with jobs, like Matt, who will be out tonight waiting in line to get their hands on what many are calling the single greatest achievement in gaming.
Every August there is Madden Day. Last fall we got Halo 3 day. This year its GTA day. Will all due respect to MGS4 and GoW2, GTA is the most anticipated game of the year due to its cross platform release. I commend all you who will brave the elements tonight; the NYC area is douched with rain right now.
The one thing that I am little curious about, not bi-curious, is if and how people will dress up. There is always some dude in an outfit or jersey at these things. Anyone who dresses like Niko might be mistaken for a street vendor peddling hot dogs. Either way, good luck and godspeed. Bonus points if anyone sends pictures of people dressed up they see. Double bonus if they are hookers.

Just got back from my local Gamestop with a healthy copy of Halo 3 Legendary Edition. I was on the fence about picking the up Big Daddy Edition, but after seeing the Spartan helmet, I had to have one. Yeah, you can’t wear it. But DAMN is this thing cool! The packaging for the Legendary Edition is really nice as well.
There were roughly 150-200 people at my small Gamestop, which is a big number. There was a lot of sprinting out to cars once people got their hands on the game, and I’m sure the Xbox Live servers are getting a workout right now. All in all, it went down pretty well. I just wish some of the food court places in the mall were open. They would have made a killing.
There was one kid there handing out business cards with his name, AIM screen name, and XBL Gamertag on there. Lots of people took them, lots of people laughed at him. Odds are he’s going to get quite a few messages with someone’s icky bits all over it. I saw at least 20 Halo themed shirts. No one dressed as Master Chief. I guess no one wanted that free copy of Halo 3 I was offering. Oh well, more for me
I’m taking my ass to bed, since I’m pretty sick and should have been sleeping instead of grabbing the game.

So I decided to bite the bullet and hit up Gamestop at midnight tonight to grab my copy of Halo 3. It’s not so much I want to play all night and I want to see what kind of mayhem goes down.
So if anyone is in the Saratoga Springs, NY area and wants to meet up at the Wilton Mall Gamestop, let me know. I’ll be getting there shortly after 9pm to pay for my copy, then I’m going to grab some food and chill until the game is released at midnight.
Here’s to hoping to see someone dressed as Major Chief. If you’re dressed that way, come see me and I will personally pay for your copy of Halo 3 (unless it’s Legendary Edition, then I’ll pay for the cost of the LE version). I’ll be the guy in the Loot Ninja hat
