What do you get when you mix a great imagination, a good amount of spare time and a lot of legos? A life sized working Donkey Kong game to show off to your friends of course. This guy deserves some kind of award or prize and if he can make any other titles I think he should go for the first stage of Metroid or Contra.
If you haven’t played Marvel Ultimate Alliance, shame on you! This was a really fun game with a ton of different playable characters and it looks like Samus from Metroid was almost in the mix? Not sure why they would have wanted to add in Samus as she is definitely not a Marvel character, but looks like Nintendo yanked the plug on this idea although some of the code from the PS2 version was left behind. It would have been a bit awkward to have a major Nintendo character on a PS2 let alone a Marvel based game.
When great gaming cosplay mixes with beautiful girls, the hotness lasts for all eternity. From Tifa to Chun-Li, the SlobsofGaming are paying tribute to the most beautiful cosplay girls in history. Video games come and go, but hotness lives forever.
I have to disagree with some of the girls on the list being hot, the two that dress up like Link are actually a bit scary to me since they look like boys. The Metroid cosplay girl is pretty awesome, that costume looks good enough for a movie set.
This guy has managed to take two awesome games and meld them together in to an even cooler game. Watching Mario put on the Mega Man suit and blast his way through the Bubble Man stage is awesome. Even the sounds are done well, and Mario can still toss enemies and grab coins. This would be quite an interesting concept for a real game, maybe have Mario fight through different games like Metroid or Contra?
If it sounds too good to be true it probably is because it is. This may be one of the cruelest April Fool’s jokes ever. To give the budding Wii fans hope of a console that may be worth investing and the hope of DLC. Pretty funny though, I call shenanigans on the whole thing. They had me up until the point where they said that third party companies were on board, we all know that is BS.
Here is the un-official press release: (again this is not confirmed and probably a cruel joke)
REDMOND, Wash., March 29, 2008 - No one wants to play the same game forever. However, sometimes it is impractical, both for Nintendo and for our customers, to release a new sequel to all our games every year. In order to solve this problem, Nintendo will begin offering the Wii Want More™ service this May. By logging into the Wii Shop Channel players will be able to purchase new content for games they already own for a fraction of the price it would cost to buy a new game.

I came across some serious cosplay while reading the latest Nintendo Power, for those of you who may not know cosplay is dressing up like a video game character. There is a girl named Jenni Kallberg that has taken Metroid cosplay and fanaticism to the next level. Not only does the costume look realistic, but she looks really cute in it as well. Jenni is a Swedish born gamer that really enjoys Metroid and started making cosplay costumes at age 14.
Not only does she do Metroid cosplay but on her site she also does Ghost in the Shell, Battle Royale and The 5th Element. Really great looking costumes and the site has a pretty cool name as well Pixelninja.
2007 was one of the best years ever for gamers. We saw some amazing games on every platform. There were sequels that took their game to that next level, and new franchises that redefined their genre. With that said, there were just too many great games for the team here at Loot Ninja to come with a decisive overall Game of the Year. Two of us picked the same game, Call of Duty 4, but everyone else couldn’t agree on the best title of the year. We’ve got votes for Uncharted, Metroid Prime 3, and Halo 3. So we’re just going to let you see all of our picks for the coveted 2007 Game of the Year.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the final chapter in the Metroid Prime trilogy for the Wii and let me say I was not a firm believer and thought it would end up as a rehash of the Metroid Prime version for the Gamecube, man was I wrong! The game pays it’s respects to the GC version both graphically and stylistically but takes it to the next level on the Wii.
Presentation and Graphics: Environments and enemies look sharp and detailed. Samus different visors look great and effects of the environment on the visor are great. Metroid Prime 3 sets the bar very high for anything looking to be developed on the Wii from here on out. MP3 and the Retro Studios crew deserve some kind of award and in my opinion have a legitimate shot at game of the year. 5 out of 5 Read More »
The author of the video entitles it some of the worst video game endings, but I dub them just old school. I remember back in the day all games had these types of endings where you got a couple of words, maybe a picture and then the famous “The End” or “Game Over”. It was very unsatisfying, especially after you spent hours on end to beat RoadBlasters and you just got two words!
But alas that was the way things were back then, I can remember playing Metroid on the NES and thinking it was one of the best endings ever, especially when you got the better ending and figured out Samus was a girl. Sit back and enjoy this trip down memory lane and some “old school” endings.
I recently received a copy of Metroid Prime 3 Corruption in the mail and was excited to give it a try, for those of you that may not be familiar this game was one of hte main reasons Nintendo players got eh Wii. Up until now there isn’t much out there in Wii land that isn’t tooth decayingly cute or boil down to a bunch of not so great mini games, Metroid Prime 3 changes this.
First off in the short couple of hours I got a chance to play I quickly realised that the incorporation of the Wii controls was done very well, I was afraid it would feel forced. There is one seemless story based upon Samus of course that has you solving puzzles, blasting mosters, rolling under platforms and just having a great time.
The colors are much richer and darker than any game I have seen on the Wii yet and graphics are pretty decent. The sound is rich and really brings you into the game and the controls are right on and take full advantage of the Wii sensor bar. So far the game has surpassed my expectations and it is the first game that I have played on the Wii that doesn’t make you feel like a tool while you are playing.
