1 Million MGS4 Copies Sold in Europe

1 million does not seem that significant, but the gaming community in Europe is very different than over here and especially when compared to Japan. Conquering the European market is a critical step for any company and the sheer number of units sold in the past two weeks gives Sony a nice footprint in their sales demographics.

Metal Gear Issues with 60GB PS3?

According to a forum poster over at MaxConsole, there’s apparently some issue installing Metal Gear Online to the hard drive of the 60GB PS3. I have the 60GB and I didn’t have any issue whatsoever, so take this with a grain of salt.

I called up Konami, and they said that this is a known issue with the 60GB PS3 and they are currently in an information gathering stage. Their advice was to either wait for a fix from them or return the game and try and get a working copy.

We’ve tried to reach Konami for comment, but requests were not returned by press time. Are you having any trouble with MGS4? My guess is no.

Review: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)

After lengthy delays and much anticipation, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally here. The last game of Solid Snake’s story arc is more epic and intense than any other Metal Gear game to date. Combining entirely new gameplay elements with an amazing storyline, this is the Hideo Kojima’s best work to date.

What else can you say about the graphical presentation in Metal Gear Solid 4 other than the game is drop dead gorgeous. In what could be one of the best looking games to date on any system, every element has been meticulously detailed. When looking at Snake, other characters, or any environment, Kojima managed to pack more polygons into MGS4 than you can shake a stick at. With the game’s camera feature, you can take in-game screenshots that can be exported to your PC via a memory stick to savor forever. Guns of the Patriots has sound just as beautiful as the graphics. From the terrific script and voice acting to the wonderful score that really sets the mood, you’re going to want to turn the volume up on your surround sound system.
