Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Trailer

The award for most misleading title goes to… Marvel ultimate Alliance 2 Fusion. Gamers heard Fusion and immediately thought about merging Hulk and Spider Man to make a web slinging behemoth, but alas looks like that thought is incorrect. We will not see any Dragonball style fusions of characters but instead see them performing co-op moves similar to what you could do in the first version. The game looks pretty good and seems to focus more on two characters now instead of the usual four from previous titles.

Loot Ninja Mighty Mugg

What you don’t know what a Mighty Mugg is? Shame on you. They are super cute are 6” vinyl figures with a stylized cartoon appeal set in Marvel, Star Wars and Indiana Jones characters from Hasbro.

Here is an example of a Mighty Mugg Chewbacca.

And here is the Mighty Mugg Loot Ninja!

Loot Ninja Mugg

What do you guys think? I am planning on making a physical Loot Ninja Mighty Mugg by using the white blank pretty soon.

Check out all of the Mighty Muggs here.

Vote for next Spider Man Box Art

Web of Shadows
Have you ever looked at a piece of box art and wondered what the f$ck the company was thinking when they did that? Well now you can affect what you see on the next Marvel game to be released, Spider Man: Web of Shadows.

You can vote on two versions of artwork that will be used to represent the game to the masses. I don’t really like either but if I have to go with one I am going with the one on the left. Hit the link below if you want more info on Spider Man: Web of Shadows or would like to officially cast your vote. What do you think?

New Street Fighter Boss

Street Fighter gets a brand new boss, named Seth, who bears a striking resemblance to the Silver Surfer. Looks like he has dethroned M. Bison as the new final boss of this instant arcade classic. The talk around town is that Seth is super overpowered and a bit oversexed. Why is he not wearing pants? To me Seth does not really fit the flow of the other Street Fighter characters and looks more like a Marvel character instead of a Street Fighter.

Samus in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

If you haven’t played Marvel Ultimate Alliance, shame on you! This was a really fun game with a ton of different playable characters and it looks like Samus from Metroid was almost in the mix? Not sure why they would have wanted to add in Samus as she is definitely not a Marvel character, but looks like Nintendo yanked the plug on this idea although some of the code from the PS2 version was left behind. It would have been a bit awkward to have a major Nintendo character on a PS2 let alone a Marvel based game.

Hulk game gets actual actor voices

Hulk
Looks like the new Incredible Hulk game will use the ral actor voices from the upcoming movie, which is nice. Impressive to see that Sega is going big budget on their movie games, first Iron Man gets good voice acting and now Hulk. Also note worthy is the fact that these games are scheduled to release at the same time as the movies instead of releasing early and cashing in on hype. I smell decent video games for these two titles.

Here is the official word:

Iron Man Video game to get real voice talent

Iron Man

Sega announced that they will not skimp out on voice acting on their upcoming Iron Man game, as they will use the actors from the movie to voice the game as well. So expect to hear some Robert Downey and Terrence Howard on your console, which I think this will be a nice touch for the game. Interestingly enough, this game is also scheduled to come out the same day as the movie. Typically, video games based on movies come out before the movie to try and cash in, but perhaps this one will be good enough to stand on it’s own merit?

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (March 20, 2008) –SEGA® of America, Inc., SEGA Europe Ltd., and Marvel Entertainment, Inc. announced today that the Iron Man™ video game, based on the successful Marvel comic book series and the upcoming film by Marvel Studios, will feature the voice talents of Robert Downey Jr., Terence Howard and Shaun Toub. All three actors will reprise their onscreen roles of Tony Stark (Downey), Lt. Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Howard), and Yinsen (Toub). The Iron Man video game launches day and date with the blockbuster movie on May 2, 2008.
