Mario Says No to Drugs

Remember way back in the day when there was a live action Super Mario Bros. TV show? I certainly do. Captain Lou Albano, famous mostly his wrestling career, played the role of one of the best gaming characters of all time. Not to be outdone by the GI Joe PSA’s at the end of episodes, the Mario Bros. show added their own mix. Watch as Capt’n Lou tells you what happens if you take drugs.

Starting today, you can visit the Mario Wish-List site to create a customized wish-list consisting of Nintendo DS hardware and software.  The site is extremely straight forward, just enter all of the necessary information and your message will then be previewed to you.  If you approve, the message can now be sent to that special someone via voice mail or e-mail.  By the sheer magic of hearing Mario’s voice you have officially done all you can to receive that black Nintendo DS that you have always wanted.

Nintendo Planning on Sequels for Zelda and Mario Galaxy

Miyamoto

While this is not unexpected, its still good to hear that to 2 of the top 5 games on the console have at least planned sequels. No word yet on dates, titles, or anything of substance, but it is reassuring that we will get another taste of these games in the not-so-distant future:

The magazine also asked Miyamoto the inevitable question about sequels, and he gave the expected answer. In case you have to hear to to believe it, Miyamoto is indeed interested in making a Super Mario Galaxy sequel. He’s also thinking about the next Zelda title.

You can probably expect the Zelda sequel first due to Mario Galaxy being the most recent of the two. We can also expect at least on of these next holiday season. Nintendo keeps moving an incredible amount of consoles with a mediocre library. Except for the obvious titles, there is a huge drop-off in quality.

Big ups to EHT for the tip.

Animated Real Life Mario Will Haunt Your Dreams

Creepy Mario

Some things should never be brought to life. You don’t bury your kid in a Pet Cemetary and you sure as fuck don’t make Mario seem real. We can’t embed it, so here is the link. Make sure you hit the play button. Haunt your fucking dreams.

I’d thank Fragloser for sending this, but I’m too scarred.

Mario Wedding Cake = Expensive

Most of you do not know this, but our very own editor-in-chief, drunk pandas, is tying the knot this weekend. Yes, to a girl. We looked in to getting a Mario themed Groom Cake. Turns out they are three thousand dollars. We are going to drink heavily instead.

Super Paper Mario PAL Has Some Bugs

Super Paper Mario Screen

The PAL edition of Super Paper Mario, which was heavily delayed from the US version, has a disturbingly major bug: the game will crash at a certain point, forcing a system restart. CVG got some information on Nintendo for a work-around:

“At the start of Chapter 2-2, you will come across a character called Mimi. She will tell you to go to the farthest room on the first floor to meet a character called Merlee. Enter that room and press the green switch. A trap will be triggered, and a spiked ceiling will descend upon Mario. Before the ceiling reaches him, flip into 3D and jump on it to find a key.

“If you pick up the key, you won’t run into any problems. Use it to open the locked door to Mimi’s right. However, if you talk to Mimi without picking up the key, the game will freeze. You will then have to turn off your Wii console and start again from your last save point.”

Basically, don’t mess up and miss the key. Nintendo is going to issue a replacement program for the discs, with information expected in the next week or so. Sorry PAL owners, that six month wait doesn’t seem to have been worth it.
