Its hard to trade games in and expect anything close to what you paid, but there are sometimes you acquire games that you will never play again. If you can get some compensation, I suppose its beneficial. Gamestop is having a trade-in promotion. Its simple. Trade in any two of the games listed after the jump, and its 10 bucks for Mario Kart. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is because it is. This may be one of the cruelest April Fool’s jokes ever. To give the budding Wii fans hope of a console that may be worth investing and the hope of DLC. Pretty funny though, I call shenanigans on the whole thing. They had me up until the point where they said that third party companies were on board, we all know that is BS.

However, sometimes it is impractical, both for Nintendo and for our customers, to release a new sequel to all our games every year. In order to solve this problem, Nintendo will begin offering the Wii Want More™ service this May. By logging into the Wii Shop Channel players will be able to purchase new content for games they already own for a fraction of the price it would cost to buy a new game.

This goes out to all of our friends across the pond. This is the trailer that is and will be seen all across Europe for the upcoming Mario racer. Its been awhile since we got a new taste of Mario Kart and people are excited as all hell. The red turtle shell still gives me nightmares.

I just can’t get enough of video game inspired Lego work. Seems like Lego and video games are going together like sex and cigarettes now a days, even Halo will be getting it’s own version immortalized in small blocks.
This guy has made the first level of Star Fox and even animated it using stop motion captures. I have to say this is pretty awesome work and we look forward to seeing more, how bout some Lego Mario Kart?
Nintendo looks to barrage us with quality first party titles in the beginning of 2008. First it was Brawl, now Mario Kart. US gamers will be able to play the happy little racer on April 27th.
Mario Kart Wii will include 16 new courses and 16 classic courses from previous Mario Kart games. For the first time ever, players have the option of racing with either karts or motorbikes. Players can also hit the road as their personalized Mii™ caricatures in addition to the handful of classic Nintendo characters found in the game. True to the series, the game features tons of racing, plenty of power-ups and oodles of objects for players to use to slow down other drivers. And 10 battle arenas will keep players busy between trips around the circuit.
I’ve been a huge Mario Kart fan ever since the Super Nintendo. Personally, I see that and the DS versions as being the best of the series. Hopefully the Wii version will top that. We’ll know in a month.
We’ve had some pretty negative press about Mario Kart for Wii lately, so how about something pleasant, yeah? Battle Mode will feature 8 player online combat.
If you’re new to Mario Kart or Battle Mode, you basically go around a large enclosure (not so much a track) where you try to destroy your opponents with weapons pickups. It’s an insane amount of fun, even more-so than straight up racing if you ask me.
Even though you can’t tea-bag your fallen opponent or stream how much you pwn (or even text it), you’ll still have some fun shooting someone down with a red turtle shell.

Remember how Mario Kart for Wii was only going to have text chat? Time to revise that statement. IGN got an update from Nintendo.
Apparently, gamers will only be able to select from a pre-determined number of phrases that can be sent along as rudimentary texts before matches. Nintendo is clearly playing it safe.
You’ve got to be freaking kidding me. Maybe they should allow full chat and have Chris Hansen monitor everything. Hopefully there’s a text choice there to tell a player to suck my balls.
Hello 1994, I mean current day Nintendo. In a move sure to piss off shell shooting racers everywhere, Mario Kart for the Wii will feature text-only chat. Ummm, what? According to IGN:
“You can create rooms for friends to join and even text chat while you’re waiting for other racers,” Nintendo of Europe revealed.
Right now, the hope is that Mario Kart will support a USB keyboard. Because if you have to type like you do with Opera on the Wii now, it’s going to be a cluster-f. Yeah, I went there. Even with keyboard support, how many gamers are going to pull one out just to chat, in a special room mind you, while they want to play Mario Kart? My guess is very little. I wouldn’t expect too much chatter there.
There are more games to be released for the Wii soon besides Super Smash Bros Brawl. Another Nintendo staple, Mario Kart finally has its final box art revealed. The game was rumored to miss its Spring release date, but word now is that its on the way and should be a must have.
