A lot of action on the Live charts this week. CoD4 holds the top spot but Halo 3 could make a push with the newly released title update. Rock Band 2 shows up, which will probably bump Rock Band out once everyone buys it and transfers their music. Star Wars:TFU sold a shit ton of copies and will likely stay around until everyone beats it. FIFA 09 is looking to be very good and the demo has made its way into the top 10.

Nothing crazy happening here in the XBL ranks. Mercs 2 shows up, but its most likely for users to be logged in while playing as opposed to playing online co-op, which is not as fun as it should have been. Castle Crashers is around as the sole XBLA game and SW: The Force Unleashed Demo is setting all kinds of download records, though early word is the game is not too good, but there is an embargo until next week for all formal reviews.

Not too much happening on the live numbers this week. Star Wars demo is making moves and Madden looks to stay in the middle third. I expect huge things out of Halo 3 come Sept 25th when the rumored Expansion Pack shows up. Big ups to Castle Crashers for cracking the big boy list as an XBLA game.

In this video Major Nelson shows off the new Xbox Experience and Dashboard, warning that the camera man must have been drinking a bit because he can’t stay focused on the screen for more than 30 seconds at a time. I like Major Nelson touting the 12 million Xbox Live users as compared to Nintendo as he talks about MS not stealing from Nintendo. You can now have Avatars and preview themes, which have been confirmed can still be used. Party functionality is a nice feature, no more having to send multiple messages to get friends into a game and you can check out each others Mii’s, oops Avatars. (I kid I kid)
A major mover this week is the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed moved all the way up to number 4. This shows how anticipated this game is. COD4 stays at number 1 and Madden has a firm hold on the 5 spot. You might see Rock Band flip flop on GH3 when Rush releases their full album.

Some big moves this week in the charts. Halo 3 falls back to number 2. Madden 2009 makes an appearance as does Fable Pub Games. NCAA 2009has fallen out as mostly everyone is getting their football fix elsewhere. Too Human might show up next week but judging by the mixed reviews, its anyone’s guess.

Halo 3 remains on top yet again. With the promising of huge changes come this September in matchmaking, I can’t see anything overtaking it. Soul Cal IV is a new comer along with the Madden demo. Expect Madden 2009 to make a huge splash next week when the new data comes in. Nice to see an XBLA title in their as well. Maybe Bionic Commando: Rearmed will join it.

The reign is over. Halo 3 is back on top. Maybe it was E3. Maybe it was Bungie’s rumored announcement, which we are still waiting for. Either way, Halo 3 is your top game on Live this week. Gears of War moved up and the Too Human Demo overtook Bad Company, whose demo has finally faded out.
