2K sent over a media alert to let us know that Mafia II is officially under development for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC (under Games for Windows Live).
Mafia II provides a beautifully crafted look into the dark and unforgiving world of the Mob. Expanding upon the original hit that captivated more than two million gamers, 2K Czech takes players deeper into the Mafia with a mature and compelling narrative that will immerse players like never before. Drawing on the experience it garnered from working on the critically acclaimed Mafia and Hidden & Dangerous series, 2K Czech’s look at mob life in the 1950s will immerse gamers in the seedy criminal underworld that makes up Mafia II.
The game looks terrific, especially from the screens they sent over. Check out the rest of the pretty shit after the jump. I’m very much looking forward to this title.
The first Mafia game wasn’t the biggest hit on the last generation of consoles. Sure, the game was decent, but it didn’t garner the success that was Grand Theft Auto. Will the sequel prove better? The screens sure look pretty. But that doesn’t mean the gameplay will be same. Only time will tell…
Here is a sneak peek view at the new Mafia game that appears to be set in the 1950’s. After a few lackluster mob related titles, and with GTA4 delayed until maybe Q2 2008, this could shape up to be a very good game.
Take 2 sent out a press release today to let us know they’ll be publishing the sequel to the hit game Mafia.
The sequel, Mafia 2, will be available for all next-gen consoles and PC. No release date has been set.
Like the original Mafia title, Mafia 2 immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940’s-early 1950’s scenario. Players will easily become engaged in the game’s cinematic Hollywood movie experience with strong, believable characters in a living, breathing city. By fusing high octane gunplay with white knuckle driving and an engaging narrative, Mafia 2 looks to be the industry’s most compelling Mafia title to date.
