See this right here? This is what the Wii has been needing since it came out. For me, MadWorld’s excessive violence is the secondary issue. The real point of the game for myself is that it’s a statement by Nintendo recognizing the previously unheard voices of the more mature gamers. For so long, the Wii has been a system geared solely towards the family friendly fare. It’s about damn time we get the option to draw a little blood on the damn thing.
And I have to say, Sega picked a good look and a good time for that look. Sin City’s been out long enough to draw comparison, but not in that real corny way. But the question still remains: does this citchy-looking adult-themed piece of software warrant a purchase?
The BBFC has decided to slap MadWorld with an 18 rating in the U.K due to “very strong, stylized, bloody violence.” This actually comes as good news because nothing had to be cut from the game. Sega has been said to be working very closely with the ESRB to avoid an AO rating in the U.S. Hopefully we will all get to experience MadWorld in it’s full black, white and red glory just as it was intended.
MadWorld has to be one of the more highly anticipated games of the year for the Wii. Maybe this game can change the negative perception people have associated with third party titles on the Wii. Madworld is set for release in the U.S. on March 10th.
This has to be one of the most anticipated Wii games of next year, it’s at least one of my personal favorites already. With all of the great games being released this last year mostly coming from the other two big consoles it’s nice to see the Wii getting it’s own highly anticipated 3rd party exclusive title.
The brand new holiday trailer gives us some of the background story and more great ways to dispose of your enemies. Even with the age verification the video has been censored quite a bit but you get the idea.
