Forgive me, but I just won’t be able to get into this. Line Rider needs to be scratched together lines on a white background. Adding all kinds of scenery just isn’t the same, at least in my eyes. I’m sure this will sell a crap ton either way on the Wii and DS. Check out how much the retail version will change from the original (original after the jump for those who’ve never seen it).
Ever wonder what would happen if someone created Level 1-1 of the original Super Mario Brothers in Line Rider? Well, wonder no more, because user ScRYeD has done it.
What ever happened to Line Rider coming to the DS? This could be huge with the stylus.
Sony announced a new user-created platformer at GDC: Little Bit Planet. The game is sort-of like Line Rider, in that the levels are all user created. You can to pick and choose what kinds of elements go into your level, from wooden blocks to soccer balls, fruit, gyro wheels, and even jet packs. You can go co-op with up to 4 players to go through and have fun in the levels you created.
The game should have a demo available on the PlayStation Network later this year, with a full release in early 2008. Word is that user levels will be sharable over the Network, which is huge.
Check out the video for a demonstration of a created level from GDC…
