One of the flagship titles for the PS3 finally has a release date. Resistance 2 is coming November 4th in the US. Good stuff. Even better stuff is what’s coming in the game’s Collectors Edition:
- Created by DC Unlimited, an exclusive Chimeran Hybrid action figure with Bullseye weapon.
- A double-sided hard-cover Resistance 2 art book covering war-torn America from two unique perspectives.
- Exclusive in-game HVAP Wraith multiplayer weapon skin
- Copy of Resistance 2 with special edition cover artwork selected by the fans
- A preview into the upcoming Resistance novel, “Resistance: The Gathering Storm” by well-known science fiction author William Dietz.
- “America Forever Lost”, Behind The Scenes video of Resistance 2 with Insomniac Games
- “Shattered History” Resistance chronology video — provides a visual guideline from the earliest days of the Chimera invasion to the current storyline.
- Digital copy of Issue #0 of the Resistance comic book series published by Wildstorm.
A lot of really nice stuff there. However, it’s a $20 price bump as the CE will run you $79.99. If you’re down for this thing, jump all over it. I want the Chimera figure.

You want to spend some extra money on Fallout later this year? Bethesda is making a pretty bad ass Collector’s Edition for the game. Here’s what’s inside:
- Vault Boy Bobblehead: Enjoy your very own Vault Boy with this collector’s item direct from Vault-Tec.
- The Art of Fallout 3: This hardcover book features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.
- The Making of Fallout 3: Get an exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game with this special DVD.
- Vault-Tec Lunch Box: The entire package comes in a fully customized metal lunchbox.
The bobblehead is pretty cool and so is the lunch box. I’m not sure how excited I am for this CE, though. We’ll see as we get closer to release.

Remember that extra limited gunmetal gray MGS4 PS3 bundle we told you about? It’s going on sale the 19th exclusively at Konami’s website. So if you’re interested, going to the store will do you no good. These things are going to be extremely limited in quantity, so you better have your buying fingers ready to go.
The bundle will cost you $599.99 and will include the gunmetal gray 40GB PS3 and matching DualShock 3 controller as well as the Limited Edition version of Metal Gear Solid 4. Now, if you do the math, you’re paying a bit extra here for this LE, but that’s the price you pay if you want super special gunmetal gray.
Konami is going to be releasing small quantities every day until the bundle is sold out, so be prepared. If it was the 80GB PS3, I’d seriously consider picking one up. But I do like my backwards compatibility.

Sony revealed a bunch of new information yesterday about Metal Gear Solid 4. The game will be shipping June 12th and that box art we showed you before is right on the money. What we didn’t know, however, is that the Limited Edition of the game will be exclusive to Gamestop. I’m as much a fan of Gamestop as the next gamer, but I did make my preorder for MGS4 there already, so the Limited Edition is mine. The LE contains two making-of documentaries and the MGS4 Soundtrack all in a nice little package (picture after the jump).
More importantly, Sony announced a Limited Edition gumetal gray PS3 bundle that will ship with MGS4. When we say limited, we mean very limited. You better go stand in line now or hope someone is taking preorders. From what I understand, this is the 40gb console, though. So if you want the 80gb, you’ll have to get the regular MSG4 bundle (pack shot after the break).

Want to know what $85 will get you for a Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition in North America? A Gamestop employee over at NeoGaf found out and posted the details. Here’s what you’ll get:
- A Blu-ray containing
- 2 making of documentaries, and interview with Kojima
- 4 chapters of the graphic novel
- Metal Gear Import Soundtrack CD
Also, as a bonus for Gamestop only, those who preorder the Limited Edition will get a nice Metal Gear Solid 4 art book. I think it’s worth the extra money and will be putting my preorder down pretty soon. Don’t forget, people that drop a bit of cash now will get into the Metal Gear Online Beta for the PS3.

Want to see what Kratos will look like on the PSP from all angles? Check it out.
I’m torn on this… I absolutely love the Kratos on the battery cover, but I’m not sure about the red. I really like my white PSP Slim. If only they’d release a Kratos battery door cover…
These pics go out to Fragloser for tipping us

Looks like Japan is getting a getting a cool limited edition Metal Gear Solid 4 that won’t make it State-side. According to IGN, Konami will be including a BluRay disc in this LE with all the released trailers and some behind the scenes footage of the game.
To go along with the limited edition game, Japan will be getting a special bundle, not too far off from what we’re getting here in North America. Except their bundle will include the LE copy of the game. And, oh yeah, it might be cool new color. Konami will be announcing more information later in March, but Japanese gamers might get a nice custom Solid Snake PS3 to go with the release of the game in June.
No word on whether we can expect a limited edition for Europe or North America. Stay tuned as Konami announces more details.

There will be another killer app coming with an extra price tag this November when GoW 2 drops on us. Like its predecessor, there will be a special box and probably a DVD of making-of and behind-the-scenes. I accidentally received a Limited Edition copy of GoW 2 years ago due to the fact that the Gamestop in Delaware, where I went to school, was crowded and the kid behind the counter smoked a ton of pot no more than 10 minutes before I walked in. The kid smelled like a Phish concert.
I am by no means a frugal person; I probably waste a ton of money on shit I don’t need, but I cannot will myself to shell out an extra 10 bucks for a fancy box and a DVD I won’t watch. If they include like a Marcus Fenix figure or a cool GoW anything, I’ll buy it. Limited Edition things should increase in value as they get older because they are supposed to be “LIMITED”. Hopefully Epic comes through here.

Capcom revealed what we expect to look at with the Limited Edition of Devil May Cry 4. The tin will feature Nero on the front and Dante on the back.
Looks pretty cool if you ask me. Matches what we can expect from the in-game graphics. Can’t wait to slay some demons.

Here’s the latest news on the Assassin’s Creed front. The limited edition version was previously announced, but now we know what you’ll get to look at for your hard earned $69.99.
Along with the nice tin box, you’ll get a few Penny Arcade comics, a figure of Altair (the main character for those keeping score), a mini strategy guide, and loads of making-of documentaries.
Sounds like a fairly decent limited edition, but nothing spectacular. I like the little toy figures, so we’ll see what happens when I pick this title up.
