First it was supposed to drop in July. Then Life with PlayStation got pushed back to August. Now, we’re still waiting. According to Noam Rimon, a Senior Development Manager for the service, there’s some paperword holding back the release.
Although we’re still waiting, we did get to find out that Life with PlayStation will incorporate Folding@Home in the background. Whenever you’re reading the news or checking the weather, you’ll be helping to cure cancer by running Folding without even knowing it. Good stuff.
Hopefully we see the new service in September.

Everyone was fully expecting Life with PlayStation to drop at the end of July, especially since we got a firmware update. But alas, nothing. Sony has heard the vocal sighs of the intarwebs and gave some details on the upcoming service.
Rest assured, Life with PlayStation will be a service that introduces a new way to interact with your PS3. By bringing information from around the world into your living room, Life with PlayStation will offer a variety of interactive content and channels on a visually stunning worldwide map interface.
The new service will be coming in August, but no word when. It could be tomorrow, it could be the end of the month. Who knows. Rest assured, you probably won’t be using it all that much anyway.
