Lack of Nudity in Video Games

Showgirls

I have to tell you that there is an utter and constant lack of nudity in video games. Why can’t I play a mature rated game and see some gratuitous breasts walk by? The first major game to incorporate any kind of mature content was God of War with the mini game where you had sex and got extra Red orbs. GTA tried to have it incorporated into their games, but was reduced to calling a hooker over to your car and driving to a shaded area where the car just jumped up and down.

Since majority of the video game players of the world are over 18, putting in some sex or just random nudity shouldn’t be a problem. Don’t we have a fully robust ESRB system where games are clearly marked as Mature or Adult only? I can see people just coming out of the woodworks to complain that there is nudity in a game and that a child might be able to see some tits before his nuts have dropped, but again isn’t that why games are rated? What other purpose do the small letters in the corner of games boxes serve?

Leisure Suit Larry + Gears of War = Awesome

We were all transfixed when we saw the Mad World trailer for GoW in fall of 2006. The trailer was both moving and exciting at the same time. Our favorite horndog, Larry, has a new next gen effort coming our way. Check out this trailer which does justice on so many levels.

Leisure Suit Larry Goes Next-Gen

Leisure Suit Larry Screen

Everyone’s favorite horn ball will be hitting next-gen consoles later this year. Sierra and Team 17 have joined forces to bring us Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust.

In Box Office Bust, serial bachelor Larry takes summer job on his uncle Larry’s movie lot, and ends up trying to protect the studio from a rival. Gameplay will include mission-based exploration, platforming, racing and puzzle-solving. The game will also feature a “Director’s Game” that allows the player to create their own Larry movies.

The game will also feature some pretty damn good voice acting. Those lending a hand to the game include Jay Mohr, Dave Attell, Shannon Elizabeth, Carmen Electra, Artie Lange, Patrick Warburton, Jeffrey Tambor, Nikki Cox, Peter Graves and Josh Keaton. Not a bad cast of voices if you ask me.

I’ve always had a blast with Larry games, and I hope this one will keep up the tradition of fun and debauchery.
