LEGO Batman Debut Trailer

LEGOs and Batman. Two staples of my youth that have done the mating dance and produced, what could be, one of coolest games based on the Batman franchise ever made. Bask in the glory that is the debut trailer as you wait until September to play the game. From the looks of things, there will be some nice two player co-op action.

Lego Super Mario Brothers, Level 1-2

Whoever created this has entirely too much time on their hands. But we get to enjoy it either way. Check out level 1-2 of Super Mario Brothers recreated in Legos. Awesome

LEGO Indiana Jones Announced, First Trailer

That’s right, the people at LEGO are extending their franchise to all of our favorite semi-action films of the 80s. This time, we get LEGO Indiana Jones. The game looks to be very fun, in true LEGO game fashion.

Star Wars to Have Wii Saber Controls

lego-star-wars-complete-saga.jpgFinally we will be able to control an actual light saber from the safety of our living rooms.  Our friends at computerandvideogames.com report that the Wiimote will be used in the upcoming release of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga.  It is not a quantum leap, but definitely a step in a positive direction.  What self respecting Star Wars fan doesn’t want to wield a light saber? The Z button will do most of the lego and weapons work but the waggle will constitute the actual use of the saber with striking and deflecting blasts.  You know someone is going to dress as a Jedi and lock the door. You just know it’ll come to that.

Lego MMORPG Details Released

Lego MMO In Game Screen

We got word today that the Lego Group has released and official name and tentative release date.

Lego Universe, as it’s being called, will hit the streets in the fourth quarter of 2008.

From the press release:

The full-featured MMOG will be complete with character advancement, expansive social and community features, and will provide a child-safe alternative to other MMOGs on the market. As a player, you’ll be able to customize your mini-figs and interact in the universe as any character you choose, providing unique opportunities for players to expand and explore with their creations.

No word yet on what platforms the game will be released for, but I would expect a PC and console release. I’d also expect a low, if any, monthly fee since the game is being pushed for younger players. We’ll see what happens in a year and a half…
