This is a pretty awesome compilation of Halo 3 clips, watch as this group of people take sticky grenades to the next level. They use sticky grenades to get running riots and send enemies hurling through the sky to some crazy Japanese music. Perhaps one of the best scenes was when everyone had the Brute Hammer and started to send each other flying. If this does not make you want to play Halo, well shame on you!
It looks like the newest Sega incarnation Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP has sold over 500,000 copies within its first week of release. Looks like the portable version is in competition with the big boys and giving Crisis Core a run for its money for the top spot.
Here are the numbers of the other Phantasy Star titles in their first week to give you a comparison:
Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast) - 84,689
Phantasy Star Online V2 (Dreamcast) - 119,159
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (Gamecube) - 74,801
Phantasy Star Universe (Playstation 2) - 124,059
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus (Playstation 2) - 23,665
Hopefully this will be enough proof for Sega to take this game seriously and bring it over to Europe and North America; so far no official dates are listed for either.
MLB Power Pros 2008 is the follow up to last years MLB Power Pros from 2K Sports and we had a chance to put a lot of time into the game. Do not let the fact that these super cute versions of ball players do not have noses or mouths fool you into thinking that this is a dumb down baseball game, in fact quite the opposite in some respects it can be too complicated.
Power Pros is a huge franchise in Japan and over the last few years it has slowly made it’s way to the North American market. The bobble head style characters in conjunction with the cartoon style graphics make it very easy for any age gamer to become interested in this game, but the intricate nature of the game makes it a huge challenge to master. Only in Japan can a simple commercial for a game appear like the second coming of Jesus Christ. Here is a quick look at the new XBLA and PSN title, Bionic Commando: Rearmed. I only wish I knew what they were saying. Maybe its like that South Park episode and they are saying “Protect my balls, Let’s fighting Love!”
If you thought you were angry about Final Fantasy XIII coming to Xbox 360 think agian, just take a listen to the nasally rant of this guy. He proclaims to be a “Japanese culture expert” and “July 14th as the day Square shot itself in the foot.” This guy is way out there and I think off base big time, his belief is that Final Fantasy will be boycotted… yes I see that happening real soon. Take a listen and wonder if this guy has ever touched a boobie in his life.
If there were an award for giving a game manufacturer the cold shoulder, Square Enix would win hands down. Actually they would win a few times. Let me elaborate…
Square Enix first shunned Nintendo back in the 90’s when it decided to move over to the Sony Playstation format after having a long standing relationship with Nintendo and it’s many FF titles. Now it is switching sides again and jumping on the Microsoft bandwagon with the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360. But no sooner do they hug Microsoft with one arm than stab them in the back with the other by announcing that there will be no 360 version in Japan. Read More »
So you decided that playing games on your Nintendo DS just isn’t good enough anymore, well grab a TV tuner and watch the tube instead. Looks like Japan is getting an interesting device that will allow you to watch TV channels on your DS, I like the rabbit ear extension. From the looks of it this is going to have access to what it can pick up from the antennas, which means the signal will be weak at best, they should have went with an internet style TV channel similar to what AT&T now has, but lets see if this even comes stateside.
The classic Chrono Trigger is making a grand return for a DS only game. This is one of the best RPG’s form the past and should make quite a splash on the DS, Nintendo continues to make the DS a strong handheld with a huge number of titles. I wonder what kind of money hat Nintendo had to give Square Enix to keep this as an exclusive? Sorry to all the PSP owners out there, but you will have to fork over some cash and grab a DS now to play this.
Wario is back and he’s taking a break from his mini-game fun time on the Wii. In case you’re tired of all Wario’s mini-games, you can get some platforming action in on the Wii. Here’s the Japanese debut trailer of Nintendo’s latest.
The word on the internets, i.e. Google translator is that on 7/17, Japan will get the first DLC for MGO. Here is what they are supposed to receive:
- Johnny and Meryl will be added.
- Now able to make Female Characters.
- 3 new stages including Shadow Moses, Mei Ling’s Ship, and MGS1 Heliport.
- Official Survival Mode added.
Also starting 7/4, two new rules will be added:
-Team Scanning (Teams will split into Sneaking and Defending, Sneaking team will be able to use Stealth ability)
-Head-shot Only Kills (Optional Rule)
The pack will be 1200 Yen and you can add a character slot with the pack for 1500 Yen. How much is a Yen? I guess it depends on the ratio of leprachauns to unicorns. Hopefully we will be seeing this stateside soon enough.
We're like Spaceballs... we're making Loot Ninja everything. Coming soon we'll have hats, shirts, hoodies, possibly banana hammocks if one Editor has his way...
