What you haven’t played enough Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords you say? Well looks like the folks over at D3Publisher think so as well and are releasing it for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I used to play this game for hours on end, not sure my iPhone battery will survive this kind of usage although it will be nice to possibly listen to my own music while playing. Look for some Puzzle Quest action on your iPhone and iTouch this fall in the applications section.

Looks like EA is trying to cross promote by tying in the Madden soundtrack with the orignal Rock Band by making it available is downloadable content over a period of time. They are also pumping it out on iTunes for all you new and old iPhone users.
Most notable for the music industry is a tie-in between the game’s soundtrack and the “Rock Band” videogame. (EA serves as the game’s distributor, which is actually published by MTV.)
Under the deal, “Rock Band” will feature music from the “Madden 09″ soundtrack in its weekly downloadable songs update, a handful at a time, over several weeks, with each song carrying the “Madden” brand. Additionally, each soundtrack song will be available for sale via iTunes as part of a special “Madden” playlist.
As an added nice touch EA is giving a little incentive to thos gamers that pre-order the game as well.
EA is also offering fans who pre-order the game from Target an iTunes gift card worth 10 free downloads once they pick up the title.
Oh EA we <3 you.

So you have an ipod and are tired of listening to just music, what do you do? Play Sonic of course! Looks like everyone’s favorite spikey blue haired hedgehog is now available on Apple Ipods. You can buy Sonic for $5 or even send him as a gift for those gamers you want to get a Christmas gift for.
I am hoping this starts a big push for more games to come to the Ipod format, but something tells me that this may be a flash in the pan, since there was no support given to an Iphone version of the game.

This past weekend I had the chance to visit two of the coolest technological based stores in NYC, Nintendoworld and the Apple Store.
Nintendoworld is a great store in Rockefeller Center based solely on the Nintendo world, showcasing all of their technology from the DS to their brand spanking new Wii. They have set up wireless download stations for DS demos and stations for you to try out games on the Wii, DS and Gamecube. Aside from the games and game stations there are also very cool displays to show some of the older generations of NES systems through the years, its almost an NES museum, it even has an original Gameboy that was damaged in Iraq and still works. They also have some great gamer shirts, plush toys and figures for you to check out.
Aside from that I also got a chance to check out the Apple iPod store on Fifth Avenue. This thing is impressive from the outside, it has an all glass exterior with a glass elevator that takes you below ground to check out all the latest in iPod and Apple goodies. The store is huge and jam packed with people scooping up iPod accessories and units. If your in NYC I highly recommend checking out both.

One of my gifts for Christmas was Season 1 of Lost and my wife got season 2. We had been meaning to get the show on DVD since we missed it on TV but just never got around to it and now we are officially hooked, we watch an average of 4 episodes a night. All my gaming time has been replaced with watching back to back seasons of Lost in order to catch up for the premier of the new season at the end of the month.
Lost in premise is Gilligan’s Island, but with no coconut radio and evil. Take a plane full of people, each with a specific back story that kind of intertwines, crash the plane on an island, mix in some supernatural mysteries and stir, what you get is Lost. Lost is the show that answers a question with 4 more questions and makes you believe what they just showed you is untrue. There are a myriad of sites that go over different theories to explain all the events on the island some of which are very interesting. It is a wild roller coaster of a ride, now midway through its third season and to write too much on it would be to give away too many surprises, but it is a must have DVD set if you haven’t watched it on TV yet. You can even get the current episodes that have aired of season 3 on iTunes in a “Season Pass” for $34.99, this feature is interesting because it allows you to download the already aired episodes and also gives you access to download the rest of the season once they air as well. Highly Recommend watching this series.
