Xbox To Refund All Red Lights of Death Hardware Failures; Extends Warranty to 3 years

rings-of-death.jpgYou read correctly.  This is an OFFICIAL press release from Xbox stating that they will pay everyone back who had to have their Xbox360 repaired due to the RLoD.  Also, the new 3 year warranty will be extended for the price of on the house to anyone in the world who has the console.  The new warranty is very specific and will only deal with issues that result from the RLoD and not other problems.  You can contact Xbox by following the above link.  I can’t say anyone saw this coming.

Wii Not Bulletproof To Hardware Issues

wii1.jpgIt seems that the Red Lights of Death have been appearing on the Wii, this time in the form of green dots called Sparkles reports many users over in the Neogaf forums.  It seems that they happen when the system overheats or has been left on for a prolonged amount of time with high frame rate games such as Resident Evil 4.  It seems that Nintendo has been very good with replacing systems and users report that if the Wii is left vertical, it does not seem to heat up as much.  Since I do not own a Wii, I am unable to comment first hand, but is anyone else out there experiencing similar issues? If so, please let us know.

Crackdown DLC Problems? Here is your answer.

crackdown1.jpgThere have been reports that the new downloadable content for Crackdown on the Xbox360 have been deleting saved games.  Nevertheless, the game designers at Crackdown have devised a foolproof way to make sure that this does not happen.

  1. Sign-in to Xbox Live
  2. Start Crackdown and receive new Title Update (if you haven’t already)
  3. Begin a Single Player Campaign game
  4. Once loaded, press Start and choose “Quit”
  5. Reboot Crackdown (soft reboot or hard reboot of console)

There you have it.  If you have not already downloaded the very cool, very worth it content, follow these steps and enjoy another run through.
