Golden Axe: Beast Rider Gameplay

Golden Axe is back and it has gotten a little bit of a face lift. Instead of fighting hand to hand, you can also ride huge war monsters into battle that can simply beat ass. Check out this fine looking monster that has all kinds of powers. I hope the game isn’t too easy while you can ride these huge monsters against small enemies.Hopefully there will be beast on beast battles.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider - Debut Trailer

If you didn’t play Golden Axe and had a Sega Genesis, then I don’t know what the hell you were doing. Maybe the greatest side scrolling fighter on that console, Golden Axe is back and holy shit balls. This time around, you get the magic and the melee combat, but you also get to ride huge beasts that pwn anything in their way. Combine all three, and you could have an awesome game.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider Debut Trailer

I remember playing the shit out of Golden Axe way way back in the day on the Sega Genesis. The franchise many of us grew up with is making a comeback and it looks pretty bloody.

The gameplay looks like something you’d find in Ninja Gaiden, Conan, Heavenly Sword, God of War… something of that genre. We’ll see how it plays out as more footage gets released over the next few months.
