We’re temporarily shutting down the Loot Ninja forums. There was an over abundance of spam coming through and we don’t have the time right now to spend all day just deleting the spam messages. The forums have been a bit neglected as such.
We have some plans for combating the spam and making some changes to the forums, but they’re a little ways off. For now, rock out some good discussions in the comments of each post.
We spent some time yesterday reorganizing our forums to make things a little more user friendly and fun. Our new moderator, Joel (N-M-E on the boards), is ready to rock it all out with you.
What are you waiting for? Get over there and make nice, or go into the Fanboy forum and call someone else’s favorite system a piece of shit 
Over the next couple days, we’re going to be revamping our forums. We’re bringing on a new forum moderator (introductions coming soon) and doing a lot of housekeeping to make things better over there. We realize it’s been a bit neglected, but no more.
Since it’s all about the community, how about we get your thoughts? Any suggestions for things you’d like to see? We’ll do our best to incorporate everything we can.

I’m happy to say that our forums are back up and running today here at Loot Ninja. We’re going to be transitioning to a new forum system over the next month or so, but why not let you guys have at it during our testing phase?
If you haven’t signed up, please do. All users and posts will get transferred over the new forums as soon as they go up, so don’t worry about wasting time or losing anything you’ve written.

The forums are going to be down for a little while thanks to a few pranksters that are endlessly attempting some SQL injection attacks. While they aren’t getting anywhere since I’m OCD about security, it is driving the CPU and RAM usage for the server through the roof. You may have noticed the site was down a couple times in the past two days.
So instead of just dealing with it (I’ve banned the IP’s on the server firewall, but they just use different proxy servers), I’ve decided to take the forums offline for a while. They’ll be back before you know it, so sit tight for a bit and comment more on the main site
Yeah, things have gone too far. Yesterday we told you all about the hatred between Too Human developer Denis Dyack and the NeoGAF forums. Today, he’s been banned. Yep, for good.

You’re the poorly animated bald Norse technogod, the Übermensch with a thousand pointless book references misunderstood by the dirty proles who aren’t worthy enough to judge you.
Your favorite Nietzsche quote, “he who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster,” is one you’ve fallen victim to yourself, if your opinion of this site is to be taken to heart. In these pitiable confrontations with us you’ve proven to be the monster of gaming development, a sore on the industry and a squanderer of your subordinates’ time and effort. Through all this, through this self-inflicted PR nightmare, you’ve conquered vast new frontiers of unwarranted hyperbole and desperate pseudo-intellectual grasping. Buy an unaccredited doctorate, change your given name to Derek, and take up the reins; Derek Smart would eagerly defer to the greatness of Dr. Dyack.
What is an appropriate action to take in response to the man who continues to post here? I won’t be tolerating a second retconned “social experiment,” a second call for NeoGAF’s closing, or a second “worst forum” insult. You decided to ignore the option for real terms for your pointless tag bet, so with the majority of reviews condemning your magnum opus to mediocrity I’ll claim a suitable prize by telling you to get the hell off NeoGAF.
Wow. That’s what I call pwnage right there. Dyack runs his mouth then won’t back it up, then NeoGAF goes and bans him for calling them out. Pwnage on both sides.
