Another Fable II Money Cheat!

Fable II has a few different ways to make in game money like doing odd jobs, questing, buying properties and houses or looting treasure chests, but if you want to cut corners there is another way to make bank quickly. The old way was to use the Pub Game exploit, but it seems there is another exploit that the developers didn’t think about.

Fable II works off of your Xbox 360 internal clock in real time so you can trick the game by disconnecting form the internet and pushing your clock ahead to earn money quickly off of any property that you own in the game. So far there is no confirmation how this may affect your game, but it does work and is very easy to do.

It is a bit of a shame that this type of title launched with a large whole in it like this. The other thing is that money so far is not that important really, aside from buying property and some gear money is not that useful.

Watch and learn at your own risk.

Peter Molyneux Hates Puppies

Here goes the logic:

Peter M. creates a new Fable II and adds in a companion dog
Fans rejoice!
Peter M. gets feedback from gamer that he finds hurting his virtual dog funny
Peter finds this fantastic

“The other bloke standing next to him said, ‘Ah, you’re such a wimp. I just left my dog and he was hurt and he had to crawl around and I found it funny. It just made me laughed he was so injured all of the time.’”

“That was a fantastic moment for me because I realized that’s what I wanted. Some people are going to be fanatical about the dog, but I didn’t want to ram him down your throat. I didn’t want to insist that you had him.”

Why did Peter Molyneux bother putting the dog into the game if he doesn’t want it to be a pivotal part of the game? The only reason I and many other gamers want to pick up Fable II is because of the ability to use the dog to battle and find loot. To me the dog is what sets this apart from the first iteration of Fable on the Xbox, I guess I fall into the category of those people that will be fanatical about it.

Peter Molyneux Makes a Strange Request

Looks like review copies of Fable II have been shipped out and in them was a letter from Peter Molyneux to the reviewer that read like this:

I have a favour to ask you — we build this game not only to appeal to gamers like yourself, but to appeal to anybody. So please, please, please, please, pleae find somebody who doesn’t play games, watch them play it and see how their world turns out, because I think it’s only when you see those differences that the unique experiences comes through.

A bit of a strange request but an interesting, almost a challenge to see just how mainstream Fable can be even for those people that are non-gamers. His statement about the game changing their world is a bit over the top, but just shows his level of commitment to his games and craft. Fable does ship a bit incomplete as the online co-op mode is not included and will come later as a downloadable update for the update.

I have yet to get my copy so Peter if your reading this please feel free to send one my way and I and a non-gamer will review it.

Peter Molyneux Full of Spite

We had brought you news a while back about an exploit that many gamers were using with the Fable II Pub Games in order to maximize their earnings without actually betting, well it seems that Peter Molyneux was well aware of the exploit. The exploit was put in the game on purpose by the folks at Lionhead Studios and Peter decided he wanted to leave it in there as a sort of social project. Peter supposedly has something in store for all those players that decided to take the easy rode to riches and sucker the AI in the Pub Games, but has not specified just yet what he will be doing to these players.

I would hope that since Peter knew all about this exploit and people jumped all over it, that he will have to do something to spite them. I would think that marking their characters in some way as a cheater would be pretty funny, perhaps a scarlet letter if you will or a giant penis on their characters head?

Maybe there will be a third moral group created as a result of the exploit, the good, the bad and the cheaters? What do you think will be a fitting punishment for those cheaters that made money quick? Also I have to say that I like the level of spite that Peter Molyneux is showing here and it makes me like him just a bit more, how bout you?

Halo Sword Appears in Fable

Many are debating the newest installment of Fable if there will be enough to warrant a purchase or just pick it up as a rental. I am very much looking forward to using the dog in the game, I want to teahc it tricks and level it up in quests. I think the dynamic of the dog is probably the most interesting to me and by the way if you look closely you ill see the covenant energy sword form halo strapped to the main characters back. I wonder if there will be other special Halo items scattered throughout the game, perhaps a marine rifle or even a Halo helmet?

Fable II Pub Games Exploit

Fable 2
Are you thinking of grabbing Fable II pretty soon? Well it is no surprise to most that Fable II released a series of mini Pub Games to help promote the title before launch and give gamers an opportunity to build up some cash before even getting their hands on the game. Looks like there is a bit of a bug in the Pub games right now that allows players to become virtually rich very fast by allowing you to bet the minimum but cash in the maximum. This needs to be patched soon or you will have a bunch of rich Fable players even before the game launches.

The game in question is the Fortune’s Tower card game, and all you need to do is bet the lowest amount before you deal cards (15 chips), and then immediately hit the left bumper after you select “Deal.” This will max out the bet, but the only amount taken out of your pot is the initial 15.

I’ve been able to replicate this in all of the Fortune’s Tower games I’ve played — you eventually unlock new tables that allow higher bets — as well as in the tournament mode. And yes, I’m racking up quite a bit of gold, thank you.

Fable II E3 2008 Trailer

Here is the E3 trailer for Fable II, there are some mixed reviews on this one after watching this. People are questioning just how non-linear the gameplay really is, which is something about the first one that I had problems with. The definition or change between good and evil was not that drastic and really only meant that your hair turned white and you grew horns if you were evil and you had a glow about you if you became very heroic. I am curious to see how the decision trees in the game shape up and how different the story lines become based on your decisions. Also they need to show more of your companion, the fuzzy dog, will there be different models for it and will it be able to kill enemies? I do like the opening of the story where you are thrown out of a window as a small child, that will leave an impression on you for sure.

Three New Titles Headed to Xbox Originals

ms_ftp.jpg
Now that BC is basically an afterthought, MS is adding to their already impressive last gen lineup. 2 of the best RPGs from last gen, Fable and Jade Empire as well as Conker are going to be made available. These titles have not officially been announced yet, but thanks to a savvy screenshot, we can see in plain view they are on the MS FTP site. We will have pricing and more as soon as we know it.

Peter Molyneux Throws Down the Gauntlet

Peter Molyneux

Peter Molyneux has always been outspoken, but this is surprising. In an interview with Kikizo, he says that “most role playing games are shit!” Ummm, right.

He went on to trash Oblivion, one of the highest rated RPG’s of recent past.

Oblivion was a great game, but the combat was rubbish; we all talked about it being rubbish.

Someone needs to slap Peter silly. His idea of great combat for Fable 2 is a single button for all combat moves. He says that consumers actually prefer to mash buttons.

You would think button mashing would be one thing I’d want to get rid of, but I don’t. For some people, it’s what they want to do.

Can I get a double of whatever he’s drinking? For a man who’s so far behind on his game, I don’t think he’s in a place to be calling everyone else out.
