In UK news, the London Games Festival 2008 has kicked off this week and will be running until the beginning of November with a series of workshops, public events, and more. Some of the events include a LittleBigPlanet Creative Cupboard, a creativity workshop, which is being run in Covent Garden all week and the Eurogamer Expo 2008 which will allow you to play all of the big upcoming Christmas releases, and not to forget the Girl Gamer Tourney. Get in there ladies.
I will try to get myself over to a few of these events and get some reporting back to you all, but if you are in London you can check it out here which I do suggest. This is not a closed event, it’s a festival, there are plenty of free and public events all across the city. A few events are asking for donations to quality causes, but remember they are providing to you plenty of gaming and swag. Get lootin before I get there son.
We had brought you news about Blizzard bringing you Blizzzcon via pay per view and giving out an in game Polar Bear mount for ordering. Well it seems that the Polar Bear Mount is the first item in World of Warcraft to get a special classification, “Account Bound”. What does this mean? Typically high level items become “Soulbound” to your character, which means only that one character can use it, “Account Bound” means that all of your characters on your account can now use this item. This is an interesting turn of events as mounts can be expensive but possibly can now be shared among your different toons. We will keep you posted as to what other items appear with this special designation.
In what can only be called an odd turn of events in the feud between Uwe Boll and Michael Bay comes this quick message form Uwe Boll about an upcoming boxing match between the two. Apparently Uwe thinks he will knock out Bay in the 3rd round and Bay doesn’t even acknowledge the fight will occur. Good times all around, perhaps Uwe has gone completely off the deep end? What do you think?
As some of you may have already heard I had the opportunity to check out UFC 83 Live in Montreal, which was the showcase for the big rematch between Matt “The Terror” Serra and George “Rush” St. Pierre. This was actually my first Live UFC event I have ever been to so the expectations were very high and I have to say that I have been a big UFC fan for a while and watched many events on pay per view, but Live in an arena is un-matched!
The Canadian fans are a lively group and will cheer as loud as they can at any given time, to the point where you can hear them in the restrooms. As this card was full of Canadian born UFC athletes, this was one loud event.
Some spoilers after the jump, so readers beware if you have not seen the matches yet. Read More »

Halo 3 is a media giant right now and it has already officially hit the 1 million pre-sell mark. Launch day for Halo 3 is a monumental day and I am curious if the Xbox LIVE servers will be able to handle the huge influx of users crashing the servers simultaneously?
Not only are gamers craving this game but so is anyone that can co-market their products on the backs of the Halo franchise. Halo 3 is now running promotions and marketing with: 7-Eleven, Mountain Dew, Pontiac, The Projekt Revolution Tour and Burger King.
In a sad way I am actually happy to see Master Chief plastered on the side of a Burger King french fry box, why you ask? Well because it means people are beginning to view the video game industtry seriously and value the effect a franchise title like Halo 3 can have, perhaps we will see more co-marketing of this style in the future.
Although it is ironic that most of the things asscoicated with Halo 3 are not exactly health conscious, Mountain Dew, 7-Eleven and Burger King, all they need left is a deal with Lard.
