We’re a little late, but hey, so was Sony. Due to some technical difficulties, this week’s European PlayStation Store update didn’t go live until Friday afternoon. Pity, because this was actually a good week for our friends in the EU. Here’s what you can grab on your PS3:
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue full game (£24.99/€39.99)
Reel Fishing PS1 game (£3.49/€4.99)
Eye of Judgment “Set 2″ expansion pack (£6.99/€9.99)
This goes out to all of our friends across the pond. This is the trailer that is and will be seen all across Europe for the upcoming Mario racer. Its been awhile since we got a new taste of Mario Kart and people are excited as all hell. The red turtle shell still gives me nightmares.
Our European friends will be blessed with Pain for the PS3 this week in the upcoming PSN update. I have to say, this game made me laugh more than any game in the past few years. Shooting your guy into buildings and dragging around grandma with a walker is just too damn funny.
Word is a few expansion packs will be coming with the launch of Pain in the EU. My guess is these will be the characters we received here in the US. Unless, of course, the new amusement park map is coming out. If that’s the case, we damn well better be seeing that in the US too.
Another week, another paltry update for our brethren in Europe. It seems like Sony is trying to screw the gamer in that continent. Some bigger and better updates are definitely needed. Anyway, here’s what you can get with your EU PS3:
Guitar Hero III “Modern Metal” song pack (£3.99/€5.99)
Elefunk trailer (free)
PixelJunk Monsters theme (free)
Yep, that’s it. Maybe next week Europe will get a proper update. I guess we shouldn’t complain as much in the US about getting a lot of trailer.
Thats right Europe. Ubisoft has a new release coming that only our friends across the pond can get. The game? My Health Coach: Weight Management for the Nintendo DS. So instead of getting all booted up and hitting the rugby or football pitch, you can watch your weight via your handheld. Put down the Fish and Chips and skip that extra side of Bangers and Mash. The road to wellville starts here. They even give you a pedometer. Think I am full of bollocks? Click here you bloody wanker.
Our friends across the pond can pick up an Xbox 360 for even cheaper starting this Friday. The Arcade SKU (sans hard drive) is now cheaper than the Wii in Europe at €199.99/£159.99, which is sure to bring in a few sales.
The Premium SKU will now go for €269.99/£199.99 while the Elite will run you €369.99/£259.99.
Will this move help the Xbox 360 become the number 1 console in Europe? Right now it’s trailing both the Wii and PS3 in most countries, so we’ll see how this affects sales numbers.
Indiana Jones and LEGO fans alike will be pleased to know the game from their namesakes has been dated for Europe. The game is set to hit store shelves for all platforms on June 6th.
No date has been set for the US yet, but I would assume around the same date or slightly before.
We’ve seen gameplay footage before and it’s looking very polished. Can’t wait for this one to come out in a few months.
Those of you lucky enough to have the PS3 version of SingStar on PS3 already in Europe have been blessed with a huge update to the SingStar Store. A total of 67 songs were added, with such hits (in English) as “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” by The Darkness and “Heroes” by David Bowie. Of the 67 tracks, 46 of them are English, with the remainder being filled out by German, Italian, Norwegian, and Spanish songs.
Unfortunately, though, many of these songs were in previous SingStar releases on the PS2. I guess if you want some next-gen music videos and the ability to upload your own video performance, you’ll have to buy them again. All of these new songs will go live on March 7th, so save up some funds for buying a lot of songs. Check out the full list after the jump.
If you read that title and hoped one of the bundles involved a little known game called Metal Gear Solid 4, you’ll be a bit disappointed.
The first pack brings you a 40GB PS3 with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (pictured above). This pack will be released March 29th for a cool €399. The second pack (pictured after the jump), gives a 40GB with three BluRay movies: Casino Royale, 300, and Spider-Man 3.
Decent packs if you’re into that sort of thing, but I think a Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle would sell a bit better. Just my two cents (or Euros, if you’re counting).
We're like Spaceballs... we're making Loot Ninja everything. Coming soon we'll have hats, shirts, hoodies, possibly banana hammocks if one Editor has his way...
