Rumor: PS3 Slim Coming Sooner?

PS3 Slim Release Date

Hello Loot Ninja!  First off, since Matt just mentioned he is gone on vacation, the rest of the Loot Ninja writers will reign supreme! HA!  I’ll be sure to go into the site and track all sorts of mud and good nasty things all over the floors.  I just thought I would get that out of the way.  We hope to keep you guys informed in all things going on this week with the master and commander being AWOL.  Now onto the news!

GameStop online is showing the ad for the PS3 Slim.  Nothing new really, it’s been up a little before the PS3 slim was announced. Seen it!  But under closer inspection it seems that the new Sony console will be released BEFORE the September 1st street date? How much in fact?  Almost a whole week.  All of you out there prying and scratching to get your hands on the new console can possibly do that August 25th.  It’s unconfirmed at the moment if you will be able to just walk in and buy a PS3 Slim on August 25th, but I’ll keep you all informed.  Wait, when is August 25th?  Oh yeah, that’s tomorrow!

Get Point Lookout Early, Maybe Get to Play It

Oh GameStop, you’re a big fan of street dates. Sometimes you make us wait, sometimes you sell your wares early. The upcoming Fallout 3 expansion, Point Lookout, falls into the latter category. GameStop stores are now selling the expansion, albeit in the form a download code, a few days early (scheduled release is Tuesday).

Bethesda is reporting that these codes shouldn’t work until Tuesday, but we’re hearing differently. I have two friends that purchased this at GameStops today; one of them worked, one did not. Maybe Bethesda and Microsoft flipped a switch between when they both entered the codes. Either way, if you want to look at the box and drool for a couple days before you can definitely play this, hit up your local GameStop or buy it on their website.
