Redwood Studios brought us great games such as Dead Space and are currently working on Dead Space: Extraction and Dante’s Inferno. The studio is not going away however, they are changing names and also changing their attitude. The Visceral name is going to make the studio sound more primal in both title and practice. Look for Visceral Games to be a major player in the EA Games stable of studios.
Dead Space Extraction will be a prequel to the events that take place in the original game. The game will also introduce a new heroine along with other all new characters, weapons, enemies, puzzles and even co-op multiplayer gameplay. Dead Space Extraction is scheduled for release this fall.
It is being developed by EA Redwood Shores, the same studio that brought us the original game. That means it’s guaranteed to be great, right?
